How did you shoot today at Golf

Got to play Coyote Springs yesterday and had an 86 with 35 putts. It was a really nice course, and a beautiful day in the desert.

Seymore101 Coyote Springs is a beautiful course in the middle of nowhere. Excellent Nicklaus design, but tough. I have never been in so many bunkers.
17 putts is crazy. I have that for nine often
I went around my little course 3x. My last time I did keep score, I went 4 over with 1 birdie. My ball striking was better today. I was not always flushing my iron shots, bit a lot of them were very well struck. That was happening most of today. My 1st tee shot this morning was about 155 yard carry 8 iron. I didn't feel like I was even trying.. it was nice.
Back to my last round, I hit my 5 iron on #6 from the back tee box, hit a nice little fade into the breeze, that put me in the center of the fairway and about 70 yards off the green.
My tee shot on 8 put me 3 feet from the hole for a birdie, that was my one birdie. My tee shot on 9 was a beautiful high flushed 5 iron that the wind caught and dropped just short of the green. I was a great 3 rounds, some fantastic shots, some not so good shots, a lot of good company.

garyt1957 That was just for 9, typed the wrong thing. 35 for 18 holes. Not great
Life has been crazy. Haven't had time to check in for awhile.
Managed to squeeze in a round last Sunday on the Wigwam Red course in Goodyear/Avondale. Managed a 43-41 after not playing for a month. 2 fairways a handful of greens and 32 putts despite 4 three jackers. Playing again tomorrow and I have a charity scramble on Monday
garyt1957 Nice looking, not cheap for us visitors.
First round from the back tees for the year today - a 'best 2 Stableford scores from 4' rather than an individual strokeplay competition, but still a bit of a change to be playing from all the way back (particularly as the course is still playing relatively long - not warm enough yet to get fairways and greens cut down to where they'll be in a few weeks - was down to the mid-30s overnight, although more like 50ish by late morning when I was playing).
The start was a bit scrappy - four bogeys in the first five, although it is a tough start to the round (three tough par 4s and a long par 3) - but I started to hit better shots after that. A misclub on 10 cost me a shot, but I hit a lot of really nice approach shots - had 7 greens in regulation in a row before being a few inches off the edge of the last green in 2, and these were some long approach shots (short hybrid from 180 on 13, 3-wood to 18 feet from 194 on 14, long hybrid out of the rough from 205 to 25 feet on 15, 3-wood from 200ish to 18 feet on 17, long hybrid from 205 to 35 feet on 18). I ended up with a 73 for the round (5 over), with the team having 79 points (equivalent to -7) - respectable, although not competitive with 86 points leading
(For what it's worth, the 3-wood that I'm using at the moment was a bit of a happy accident - saw a Titleist TSI3 15° head on an eBay auction about to end a few weeks back, and managed to get it for £75, then saw a Diamana Blueboard shaft (B-series - not the Plus that's a common stock shaft in Titleist woods) with Titleist adaptor for just over £30. Put the two together, and I have a club that seems to work really well for me...)
41-41 at The Duke in Maricopa. Solid round for me. 6 fairways and 6 GIRS, 31 putts. No birdies but I had a couple good looks and burned the edge of the cup a on those.
Hole 15 was a 337 par 4. I hit a big drive but it tailed off the right under a bush. No swing from the right side, but I was able to make a lefty swing with a backwards 7 iron. Somehow I made solid contact swinging lefty and advanced the ball into the open about 20 yards up still in the desert. Chipped to 20 feet. I was ready to accept my bogey but instead made the putt for a hard working par.

1 over par 72 at Timber Greens. 1 birdie, 15 pars and 2 bogeys. I was a ball striking Jesse today. lol Did the front in 1 1/2 hours. But ran into the members going off the back. Finished in a little under 4 hours. Below is the par 5 12th hole. Had to wait a lot so snapped some pics.

I had a rough day. We played as a par 64 because of some flooding. But we were not CPO, go figure. I shot 14 over, with 4 greens. I have been trying a different dose on a heart med, and today I felt like a zombie. I had no touch on approaches and chips. Driving and putting was okay.
Our whole team played pretty poorly, and I think we got smoked.
44/43 today in beautiful weather in DFW. The course (Twin Creeks) has some short par 4s and 5s that typically allow me to get more GIR and score lower. I did get 8 GIR but 3-putted 2 of them. The only putt of any length I made was a 25 footer for birdie on a par 5, which was fun. I was happy to have no triple bogeys or worse on the scorecard. It was great just being out there today in gorgeous weather.
Charity scramble today at Papago. Team shot 67 and we were 16 stroke more than the winning team. Not going to be good if I am the A player. 1 bogey on the day on our 1st hole, a 200 yard par 3. Not a fun hole to start on. I was terrible and I blame the 4 hrs of yard work I did in 98° heat yesterday. Played with some very wealthy gentlemen. One guy tried to drive one of his Corvettes but couldn't find it. He finally remembered he drove it to work and swapped it for his Porsche.
39, 38 - 77 today. Team won 2nd in 1 best ball on the par 3s, 2 best balls on the others. No double bogeys, no birdies. 6 bogies, 12 pars. Last round of golf in Florida as a resident. Said goodbye to the guys. It was a memorable 12 years with these guys.
