Walterjn Your tee boxes look like ours with the unreplaced divots. Only difference is ours are from people hitting driver 🙄

We moved the tees back on the first hole so we could grow grass . I can’t remember how many groups yesterday I had to tell to get off the bare dirt and tee off from the markers.

Snuck out for 9 last night, but shot a horrible 46. Pull hooked the driver on #1, but hooked a GW out of the trees to the green to save par. Unfortunately I just kept hitting pull draws/hooks. The exception was par 5 #7 where I hit a nice straight drive, straight 5h and then a straight GW below the hole and burned the edge for an easy par.

Typhoon yeah, we move the markers regularly. This tee box is really hard, most have a problem pushing a tee into it. What you can't see is the trees on my right that are 4 feet off the box here.

Shot 39/43 today which is my best in a long time. Except for the Par 3's, I didn't play that well tee to green but I was putting lights out. 10 1 putts. I was never on the fringe so those were all legit 1 putts. 27 putts overall.

A cloudy day and it rained lightly for a little while. First time since the fall that we were off the cart paths. We got around in about 3:50.

Bravopilot oh, it gets better, the markers are at the front of the tee box. I took a picture of the entire tee box, as far back as I could get. Here's a picture as far back as I could get, at this point I'm a foot or 2 away from the fence, and as much of the area as I could get a picture of.

One really needs to be able to hit a slight cut to be able to get around the trees and keep it in the fairway. If you hit too much of a fade, then you might land on or around the #7 tee box. Next time I'm there I'll see about getting a pic from the forward tees and point out #7 tee box. It has a few trees, and a small section of fence for a little protection.

Walterjn Is the green straight ahead? Tad on the right? I cannot make the ball left or right on purpose, so this hole is tricky. Over the fence left and OB, or trees. Straight is my shot. So much for a flat tee box, or wide??

You mentioned fairway, so one of the two Par 4s? Nice and green.

What is the name of the course?

Bravopilot it is fairly straight, yes par 4 #6. Longest hole on the course
I zoomed in on the 1st pic and cropped it to show a view of the green, grewnside bunker on the left, and you can kinda see the white flag for the hole.

Golf course is Zaca Creek GC

Here is the best site with a course tour, hole yardages, and course layout. You can select the hole, and check them one by one, or watch the full flyover. We even have a go cart track in the driving range.

Only thing I'll say about today's round is....those Ping G2 irons are still like cheating. I call them Stevie Wonder clubs.
That, and the Paradym X driver head is the noisiest head Callaway ever put out. What a racket it makes. But got to a couple 100yd. markers I normally only see while driving past them.😲

VigilanteTrail we can only do so much with what we have. The course needs a few teeth.... It is a fun little course! Great place to work on irons and short game. I'll have to see about getting pics of #5. As a right handed player, you really need to be able to draw the ball a little bit to keep it out of the pines on the left. Otherwise, a straight ball will put you on the right side of the fairway or green.

Walterjn The one with all the trees directly on the left side of the tee box . with the chain link fence. 6 looks awful too. I imagine its just the camera

I’m starting to mess around with one of my pocket zoom cameras to photo some of our golf holes. Here’s our second hole. It’s 215 yards downhill to the pond. Then over the pond, from a downhill lie, to the green. Short of the green but dry is okay. Over the green is jail, and right side does not hold shots very well.

We try to get as far as we can from the tee so we can have a short iron in, without rolling into the pond. With varying winds and turf conditions, it’s a challenge to pick a club. My default is 4 wood. Today, wet and into the wind, was the driver. It can be as little as 5 iron or hybrid.

When we moved here I bought a yardage book. Here’s my notes on this green. I ignore the right/red pin and always shoot for the green oval.

Typhoon yeah, and I've been playing the course irons only lately. 4 iron off #6 blues. To get the ball down there as far as I can.
              5 iron off the whites.

Team game, and a beautiful day. I shot 82 with 7 greens and 30 putts. I managed to lose 3 balls, which is bad for me. One of them hit a house. Made a loud sound but no damage. When you switch from an arm swing to a body swing, and you forget to turn on the back swing, the pull hook OB is a definite possibility. 😑

We definitely won some money, nothing large though.
