Played in a different league today. Had to play the White tees. First round with the PXG irons. Hit the ball great and scored shitty. Hit too many bunkers that were in horrible shape.

First round I have played outdoors today since the 31st of March. Also playing my backup irons that I haven't played in 4 years. Just to see if my swing is getting better as to irons, it is. Old set Aerotech steel-fiber shafts with Dynacraft Prophet CB heads.
3 putted the first two greens. 🤬. Shot 47 on the front. 41 on the back and had 31 total putts, so I got my head out of my ass after the first two holes. Different course than home with greens about 12 on the stimp.

Had a few enjoyable rounds over the last couple days. Didn't score exceptionally well, but I enjoyed the rounds. I've been playing my little course irons only. Today, I went around at 5 over from the forward tees. From the back tees, it was 8 over.
I did hit some beautiful long irons on 4, and 6. On 4, from the back tee, I hit my 4 iron with a slight draw that ended up in the right rough and about 10 yards from the green. Chipped on, 2 putt par. Hole 6 from the back tees, I hit one, and saw it hit a tree on the right. Never saw it come down, so I hit my provisional. My provisional was a better strike and sent the ball high and along the left side where it hit a tree and dropped. Never found the 1st ball.
#6 hole from the blue marker is listed as 257 yards. It is not an easy hole.

    We moved the tees back on the first hole so we could grow grass . I can’t remember how many groups yesterday I had to tell to get off the bare dirt and tee off from the markers.

        Snuck out for 9 last night, but shot a horrible 46. Pull hooked the driver on #1, but hooked a GW out of the trees to the green to save par. Unfortunately I just kept hitting pull draws/hooks. The exception was par 5 #7 where I hit a nice straight drive, straight 5h and then a straight GW below the hole and burned the edge for an easy par.

        Typhoon yeah, we move the markers regularly. This tee box is really hard, most have a problem pushing a tee into it. What you can't see is the trees on my right that are 4 feet off the box here.

            Shot 39/43 today which is my best in a long time. Except for the Par 3's, I didn't play that well tee to green but I was putting lights out. 10 1 putts. I was never on the fringe so those were all legit 1 putts. 27 putts overall.

            A cloudy day and it rained lightly for a little while. First time since the fall that we were off the cart paths. We got around in about 3:50.

              Bravopilot oh, it gets better, the markers are at the front of the tee box. I took a picture of the entire tee box, as far back as I could get. Here's a picture as far back as I could get, at this point I'm a foot or 2 away from the fence, and as much of the area as I could get a picture of.

              One really needs to be able to hit a slight cut to be able to get around the trees and keep it in the fairway. If you hit too much of a fade, then you might land on or around the #7 tee box. Next time I'm there I'll see about getting a pic from the forward tees and point out #7 tee box. It has a few trees, and a small section of fence for a little protection.

                  Walterjn Is the green straight ahead? Tad on the right? I cannot make the ball left or right on purpose, so this hole is tricky. Over the fence left and OB, or trees. Straight is my shot. So much for a flat tee box, or wide??

                  You mentioned fairway, so one of the two Par 4s? Nice and green.

                      Bravopilot it is fairly straight, yes par 4 #6. Longest hole on the course

                        Only thing I'll say about today's round is....those Ping G2 irons are still like cheating. I call them Stevie Wonder clubs.
                        That, and the Paradym X driver head is the noisiest head Callaway ever put out. What a racket it makes. But got to a couple 100yd. markers I normally only see while driving past them.😲

                        VigilanteTrail we can only do so much with what we have. The course needs a few teeth.... It is a fun little course! Great place to work on irons and short game. I'll have to see about getting pics of #5. As a right handed player, you really need to be able to draw the ball a little bit to keep it out of the pines on the left. Otherwise, a straight ball will put you on the right side of the fairway or green.
