DonM And I’m not pin hunting. Just can’t hit an effing short iron.

That was me on the golf trip. I was killing the driver, but struggling to take advantage of it. Sucks to have so many wedges in and you can't hit a green. Short irons and wedges used to be my strength, but I feel more confident with hybrid into a green these days.....at least the expectations are lower then.

ode I did that yesterday. He was sitting on top of the ground and I walked up behind it with the blower going. I kicked it trying to get it over the fence, it got stuck on the fence. Pretty sure something was wrong with it before I walked up.

ode They knew not to poke their heads out!!

No animals, or humans, were harmed in the playing of 18.
    Twice.

KCee but I feel more confident with hybrid into a green these days

Played today. Another beautiful day. Sunny and low to mid 50's.

I don't have a score as I picked up on one hole when I got to 10. I haven't had a blowup hole like that in a long time.

I had one of my best driving days in a long time, but I couldn't do anything with them. Frustrating.

I did par the last hole, a par 5, so now I'm ready for another round. 😄

We got around in 3:08, CPO, so that was good.

Ahhh golf. So I went to hit balls last Thursday and after a slow start I'm striping it. Hitting in a dome with a monitor so I can see ball flight. I'm just hitting green after green with everything even up to 3 wood. Driver is great, pitching is superb.
Fast forward to today and I start out shanking pitch shots. Same for irons. Got a little better with hybrids. WTF? I'm leaving for Az on Monday and last weeks session had me looking forward to golf. Now I'm back to not interested. My golf life sucks.

Shot 88 today in the senior golf league, good enough for 2nd place in the hackers flight. No birdies, which was disappointing because I missed a birdie on one of the par 3s after a hitting a sweet feeling TS3 PW to 5 feet. I only had one bad drive, which hit a tree and deflected into a pond, lol. That led to the only triple bogey of the day. I didn't make any long or even medium length putts, but I was getting them close. There's something to be said for low stress 2-putts.

    Another discouraging day.

41-50. I just lost my swing after 8 holes. I had been playing well up till then.
    8 GIRs and 37 putts.
The putter was cold but once again the biggest problem was the irons. Like @Spartan I wasted some great drives. I practiced irons yesterday with a purpose, and did great. I just couldn't repeat it today.
Our team only lost a buck per person.

Oh well, maybe we will get rained out Friday.

Par4QC I've kept the gophers at home the past 2 Sundays, with my SW.

But it seems like it is going much farther than ever!!

    I've got that shot.......

Played a two-man indoor scramble today with three teams . We played Arnies Bay Hill course in honor of this weekends tournanent. My partner and I were 3 over on the front side.
We were still doing fine on the back when we took a 9 on a par 5. Hey, skitty things happen. We won by 1 stroke.
Having fun on a Wednesday afternoon on state-line road at the Indiana/Ohio
    NE border. 😎⛳🏌️‍♂️

81 at Tarpon Springs. Had two birdies. Same as Monday, just not back to back. Excellent ball striking today, best in awhile. The greens at Tarpon Springs are Bermuda and are slower than the SeaDwarf Paspalum greens at Timber Greens,

Also, Paspalum is much less grainy. So you really don't have to read the grain, like Bermuda. Anyway, never really got adjusted to the slower speed and left too many putts short. Happens there a lot.

We went out first at 7:00 and were done at 10:03. After the round we were in the car and one of the guys in the group behind us came up and tapped on the window.

He said he was very happy with how fast we played. Said he played in a 5 hour round recently. Another gorgeous morning on the course. 65 degrees when we went out.

We've had similar comments made by groups who follow us. We walk, and usually it's riders who come up and say
"We groaned when we saw 4 walkers ahead of us, but we had a hard time keeping up!!"

Eguller No lunch ? How’s the diet going ?

Diet is not going so well. lol. But we skip eating lunch out to save a few bucks this time of year. The summer Paradise Card starts April 1st. So the rates will start to go down.

He said the diet isn't going too well, maybe Sneakyfat is more appropriate.
On a related note, my fat ass stepped on the scale today and I was under 200 for the first time in a long while.

sdandrea1 forgot what that feels like. I'm at 214, down from 223

I got as high as 223 myself two years ago. Then got down to 193. Now I’m up to 213.

I’m 6 feet and carry it well because I look taller than I am (longer torso). I was 165 with a 32 inch waist in high school. Most of my adult life I was ~ 175 with a 34” waist.

Then I retired early and blew right thru a 36 inch waist and settled at 38 inch. I think ~ 200 is where I can maintain.

When I got down to 193 I justified not staying there because I didn’t want to buy a new wardrobe. Lol

Putter kills another good ball striking round. 11/14 fairways, 12 greens, 33 putts. 14 pars and 4 bogeys.

This was a new putter today. I misread two putts, but everything else was close. Longest 2nd putt was 4 feet. Made every putt 6 foot or under, missed every putt over 6 feet. Admittedly, my home course is notorious for tough greens for putting and chipping. I did a spreadsheet stats check...my average putts on my home course, 32.2. My average on all other courses combined, 30.4.

Still you'd think one would go in once in a while, especially when I have played this course 300+ times.
