This I do know! I can practice my putting in the living room, on the rug. My chipping and bunker practice requires going to a course. Not enough room at home, and no sandbox...
Moat of my play at my little course is all irons, wedges and putters. The only hole I bother with a wood or driver is #6, the rest of the course is just too short for me. I hit my 7 iron from the blues on #1, 3, and 5. #2 & 8 I use my 52Β°. #4 either my 5 or 6 iron, depending on how I am feeling at the time. # 6 on the blues, either my driver, 3 wood, or 5 wood, depending on how I'm feeling. #8 either my 8 or 9 mostly depends on where the tees are, and which way the wind I blowing. # 9 is either my 5, 6, or 7 iron. From the white forward tees, I mostly club down one club, except #6 then it's my 5 wood at most. The only hole I use a tee on is again #6, every thing else is off the deck, and I do my best to play it as it lies. Winter rules lift, clean, replace happens when wet.
That said, I really do need to get out to my favorite range, and do more bunker, and short game practice.
