Shot 48/40 at Tangle Ridge, Grand Prairie, TX. Rough start with a triple on #1 and another on #5. Couldn't hit a solid iron shot until my first GIR on the par 3 9th, which I 3-putted.

The back 9 was like a reboot with 4 GIR and nothing higher than a bogey. The greens were fast like most courses here lately, as the grass is becoming dormant.

Sparky I've played Prairie Lakes a fair amount. The dreaded "Bermuda Triangle" on the "white" nine, lol.

MidwayJ I remember that I got my first par ever on #9 on the north 9 holes. And then about a month later, got my first ever birdie on the same hole.

Sparky They call them the red, white, and blue 9s now. I guess the north 9 would be the red. One of my claims to fame at Prairie Lakes is hitting power lines with a drive.

Same score as yesterday, 82. But completely different. This time my swing was fine but I couldn’t get up and down and couldn’t putt. 10 GIR and 36 putts, not even including fringe putts. I missed a putt inside of 2 feet. Gah! I was +6 after 4 holes and then only +4 on the last 14. Birdied the tough 18th. 🙂

Mattyv I'm in Vegas right now and it's been beautiful. 10 * warmer than normal. We didn't bring our clubs this time because it was supposed to be colder and I'm golfer out. Sometimes I think the forced break is a good thing

I can relate to the forced break. Where I live in Canada we have a forced break every year from November to March. Except for the golf game and simulators which I'll hit two or three times a month starting in January.

I agree. I don't mind not playing for a couple of months, but I hate when I have to go 4-5 months not playing.

I always liked the break because I could focus on just hitting balls, or working on speed without the worry of it affecting my game the next day. Now… I don’t play at all and don’t miss it one bit.

Typhoon methinks we need to get you playing again, and more often!!!

Typhoon I could focus on just hitting balls

This seems to work well for me. Many times just hitting balls into my net seems to improve my swing. I don't worry about where the ball is going or how far I just try to make good swings with good contact. Last week I used the net Fri night and then for 10 minutes Sat morning and hit the ball great that day.....of course my short game sucked, but whatever.

KCee Put a piece of masking tape on the face to see how you’re doing

Typhoon I use foot spray sometimes. I do have a PRGR SS monitor, but I don't use it much. I was thinking of getting a decent launch monitor mainly for winter use, but I don't like spending too much time in a cold garage lol.

Shot 92 today in the North TX senior league. I was hitting the driver pretty well but couldn't do much of anything else. It's frustrating when the driver swing works and the iron swing doesn't.

KCee The foot powder is a frigging mess. We had a few cans of it at our indoor place and we got rid of it. Made a mess of everything, not to mention the club.

Today I combined some bad full swings from Sunday with bad short game and putting from Monday. I’m lucky to have shot 87. It felt so crummy. 5 GIR and 35 putts. The greens are getting so fast, probably 12 on a stimp meter. No exaggeration. Our C and D players were blowing everything way past all day. My short sided recoveries and sand shots were just awful. We lost our entire entry fee, which is real hard to do because we pay 4 places out of 7 for first six holes, second six, third six, all eighteen, and trash (greenies, birdies, and sandies). So we couldn’t even muster 4th place in any of those. Fuuuuuuuuuuuck.

Oh, and just when the bunkers were finally down to a good amount of sand, they filled the fucking things up again. I’ve never played at a place that wanted so much sand in the bunkers. And it’s not nice sand. It’s heavy.
