I shot 38-38-76 today at Eagles Landing GC in Oregon, Ohio. Two birdies, 11 GIR, 33 putts. A little cool
when we started, but then the course is right across the street from Lake Erie, and it warmed up to almost
60* when we finished. Beautiful fall day with almost no wind.....

garyt1957 The drive is long enough and last year we lucked out with warmer weather for all but the last day. We hit Florida in the winter. The OC trip came about when 2 guys found some great deals on hotel and golf. I loved last year, but this year a bit sick of being cold. Of course I always say I'm quitting golf all together and keep playing so.....

KCee I'll have to hit you up for some info. I'm interested in going out there, but in the summer

garyt1957 I would imagine it's REALLY busy there in the summer. I would certainly prefer the weather though. A few of us were thinking of doing a shorter trip in May before it gets busy but hopefully with nicer weather. There are some very nice courses and very different from what I normally play which is cool.

Another beautiful day in Missouri. 50* at tee time, 70* when we finished. The front nine started out well with two pars and then fell apart. The back nine started out poorly, losing 2 balls on number 10 but got better after that. Ended up with 50/45. A little worse than average but still within a normal range.

It was CPO (which it will be until April 1) but we got around in about 3:45.

      Chic-Fil-A for lunch.

85 with 32 putts this afternoon. Only 4 GIR. I missed a lot of greens by just a few feet and then chipped and putted poorly. I hit the ball pretty well and it felt like my score could not hardly have been worse.

      Chick-Fil-A for supper! πŸ™‚

Sloppy short game led to an 84 (12 strokes higher than last Friday). Putting was horrible.
I missed my quota by 5 but my teammates carried me. We got first $8 each.

Played Rock Creek in Mobile Alabama. Pretty nice course. They had just replaced the back 9 greens, so front 9 greens were slow and back were fast.
Thank God we played alone. I hit 5 (five!) balls off the first tee and not one got airborne! Played the first 7-8 holes like that. 100 yard grounder off the tee, 100 yard grounder second shot, third on the green, two putt for bogey or three putt for double. Talk about no fun. Just couldn't figure it out.
Finally was able to get it airborne on the back nine. Shot 47-44 -91. Ug-lee

Played yesterday. My driver, which has been solid for 6 months, suddenly went completely AWOL. Luckily, this was the first time on this course that I moved up from the back tees, and I was able to get away with 4-5 150 yard pop up drives. The new Wilson D9 forged irons, with the first serious attempt to return to steel shafts in 10+ years, continues to go well. Driver sucked. Missed several putts I should have made, but I did make a few. Good chipping was a surprise. Still managed a 77 somehow - despite the awful driving I never got in any real trouble.

Eyes on the ball!! Quit looking up.

Sparky I think you and I switched to steel at the same time. It’s been good for me, too.

Another very blah round, this time at The Oaks GC in Mississippi. Decent enough course. I shot 94. When I'm not hitting well and scoring well my short game and putting concentration go down hill. Just don't care too much so I half ass it.

Shot 43-43 yesterday at the Arizona Golf Resort. Course was a 35-37 set up. Back nine was much better but ruined by back to back doubles on 17 and 18. Also had 2 birdies on the back nine. It was raining on my way to the course but was due to end right around my tee time. Front nine was very wet and sloppy and contributed to the poor play on the front. Never played the course before and I believe this was the 80th course I have played in AZ. I am on a mission to play as many of the 300 courses in the state as possible. Had a fun day despite the weather.

Second worst score of the year, 89. Been jittery the past several days, like over-caffeinated, from meds and it’s killing my golf for the last two rounds. Aggravating. It’s just no fun to play when I’m like that. I’ve been through it before so I hope to get it worked out.

Played Grand Bear in Biloxi today. Absolutely perfect day. Got off to a good start bogey, par , birdie, par. Then we caught up to the 8some (yes8!). Obviously things got slow.
Until hole 7, 150 par 3, HOLE IN ONE !
Never saw it go in. Hit a decent shot, saw it on the green and thought I saw it stop. When we get to the green we can't find it. I hit a draw so thought maybe it rolled into the left bunker. My w8fe says " Maybe it's in the hole", she looks and there it is. Second one in two years after going 0 for 20 years.
Meanwhile there's now 3 groups backed up as the 8some finishes 9. I call the clubhouse and the guy says he'll talk to them. We get to 10 and the guys ahead of us haven't teed off. Look down the fairway and the 8 some hasn't split up. Now the guys behind us are seething. They call the clubhouse and a kid comes out to talk to them. Passes us and says they'll wait for you and let you play through. Of course they don't let us play through. The foursome behind us are livid. They are likely not finishing. They call again. Didn't see anybody come out but the 8 some quits after 15. Things pick up a bit and we finish in 5 hours and 10 minutes.

Mattyv. I still say they're luck. Both of mine came when I wasn't really playing well. This one was a decent shot, but came out low and didn't feel or look great but it went in.
