Typhoon Around here in MA a lot of winters we get those 60 degree days and people run to the golf course, wait 3 hours to get out to play once and then not again for another 6 weeks.
I never bothered. I like to end the season on a good note, not going out for one round after a 2 month layoff, crappy course conditions and hit it lousy. Now I have another 6-8 weeks of stewing on how bad I hit it.
Iād rather just do the indoor golf thing. It doesnāt feel like real golf so you donāt work at it, you just swing.
When I was up there a lot of guys put their clubs away when the first frost came usually sometime in October. My brother in law plays year round down on the Cape. His home course (Cranberry Valley) uses temporary winter greens, but there's many that don't.
They also play at Blue Rock in Yarmouth down on the Cape, which is a very nice Par 3 course. Depends on how badly you want to play. Tomorrow we have a tee time at 7:30 (sunrise is at 7:12) at Silverthorn in Spring Hill.
It's supposed to be ~ 40 degrees at that time and we could have a frost delay. Supposed to be sunny with little wind. So we'll just dress in layers and de-layer as it warms up. Might be ~ 57 when we're done.
We like fast play and like the early tee times, so we put up with the cold.
