18 today with Jake, the grandson. migawd, can that boy smack a ball around. He hadn't played since July, but I don't think he hit driver less than 300 on any hole. And did break his record longest, a couple times. Previous was 365, on a straight down the line hole, using scorecard & GPS figures(not combined 😁), when the ball stopped just in back of the flag.
He birdied a couple of long Par 5s today with 412 and 383, with a lot(see: TON) of carry on both!! Did I mention he was using the 'new' shaft, on those 2 holes, that I have for demoing....which seems to be 'something' in the making. (R flex, btw) Anyway, front he was 1 over, I was 3 over. Back, something got hold of me. Had 2 birdies, no bogeys, something I've never done, ever! He had a couple birdies, a couple bogies. End of day, we both shoot 72, 1 over. 82*, low humidity, 10-15 mph wind. Great day, great time!! Heading out again tomorrow, but told him we have to play somewhere different, so as not to spoil today, in memory.
