Went around twice. Shot a 45 and a 43. I had a few really nice shots from the tee box. I just couldn't quite capitalize on those shots. Downhill 214 yard par 4, hit my 4 iron to about 5 yards short of the green. Carded a bogey, 😞. I just couldn't find the hole for par. I got one par on the 1st 9. Drive off the tee, 252 from the tee to the center of the green, I ended up about 20 yards off the green, chipped on two putted for par.
Second 9 I got 2 pars. #4 the 214 yard downhill par 4, hit my 4 iron, ended up only going about 120-135 yards, pitching wedge into the green, 2 putt for par. Next hole #5 about 171 yard par 3, pulled my 5 iron hit a beautiful baby draw, ended up on the green about 5 yards from the hole. 2 putted for par. #6, I hit a beautiful slice into some trees, never saw it drop. Hit a provisional that ended up 4' off the green. Found my 1st ball about 50 yards off the tee (stupid trees), played it from there. Hit a nice 6 iron to almost 20 yards off the green, skulled my wedge over the green and carded a 7. Played the provisional just because, couldn't find the sweet spot with my wedge after skulling the other ball. That one would have carded a 7 as well had I played that one🤣🤣. Hole 9 185 yard par 3, I hit my 5 iron off the tee box and ended up 5' off the green. Chipped over the pin and had to putt downhill, couldn't quite get my putter to work with me today. All in all, I enjoyed myself. It's nice to see that my longer irons are starting to show themselves.
Nice to know that the range time on Sunday is paying off. Then again, I was getting balls to make it to the fence at the far end of the range (220 yards) with my 4 iron, and occasionally with my 5 iron.
Now I just have to unlock my driver, maybe I'll get that to reach out to 260ish yards....
