Sentry tournament @ Kapalua
Sad that all it took was a single word. Not a good word to say, but still.
Had he not been in this tournament and in one of the leading groups, no cameras or mic's would have even picked it up and nobody would have been the wiser. But maybe that is the problem as well, that he has been doing that for years and it finally got picked up? Who knows.

... or they wanted to hold their finger to the wind just a little bit longer to see how much of a backlash their brand would take if they didn't. He was their highest visibility player - I'm not seeing too much of Tom Watson and Davis Love III. Maybe they didn't want to can him, and were hoping it would blow over?
He will be fine. In today’s 24 hour news cycle it is already old news.
RL Statement
"We believe in the dignity of all people, regardless of age, race, gender identity, ethnicity, political affiliation or sexual orientation,” the company said in a statement. “In reflecting on the responsibility we have to all of our stakeholders, we have decided to discontinue our sponsorship of Mr. Thomas at this time."
“While we acknowledge that he has apologized and recognizes the severity of his words, he is a paid ambassador of our brand and his actions conflict with the inclusive culture that we strive to uphold.”
If they had mics (that the public heard) on some of the early round 'trunk slammers',
I bet the fields on the PGA Tour would become MUCH smaller due to fines/penalty's incurred.
Glad I don't have a mic following me around!
I am sure it is not part of anyone's daily lexicon here.
I wonder how much flack he would have received from the Gender advocates if he called himself Alice or Nancy? I hear people say that all the time on the golf course.
I use the phrase "not enough mustard on that hot dog" when I hit a short put, but I probably should not say anything.
Most people have said/done far worse, unfortunately people that are in the public spotlight are under such a microscope today.
In today's world, it is best to keep as much as possible to yourself. It is not worth the risk to share any thoughts that may be perceived differently by other people.
He should continue wearing the clothes until they wear out or he gets a new clothing sponsor, which might take a while. He likely has a full wardrobe of apparel from them, it shouldn't go to waste.
Subsonic I would like to know why all those with the cameras/mics feel the need to ruin people's reps? There is only 1 way, what he said, got out to the public and that was through some fucking asshole, out to make a name for themselves, while ruining someone else's good name/reputation. All networks have 'delays' on broadcasts, that shit never needs to be seen/heard by anyone; just no call for that in the world. The ones letting these things go public are much, much worse than what is being said/done. Slimeballs, is quite a nice name to call them, because I can think of a lot of other names that are more fitting.
Follow me around, hear what I say, & I'll fuck you up when you put it out to the public. I'm hoping Justin has the balls to sue the network and reporters; but given the pussyboy that he seems now, it's a doubtful thought. They have cost him a shitton of money, and ruined his name. No, it is NOT on him for saying it!! This crap is on the people reporting it, and it needs to be stopped.
Par4QC Good question. Maybe a lot of people in this world are looking for a "Gotcha!" moment? An opportunity to hem people up? If it bleeds, it leads mentality?
I remember a family friend that has since passed who was in the White House press pool when Kennedy was President. His extra marital relations were known about, but never printed on out of respect for the office. How would that be handled today?
Lot's to think about...

Par4QC but given the pussyboy that he seems now
To me, the irony in all this, is that he dresses the most gayass of all of them, and half the time his outfits don't match.
Shoes and belts don't match half the time either.
Even Marty Hackel would be disappointed LOL

He's probably better off letting his wife dress him before rounds.
JT was one of the outspoken pros that were vehemently opposed to having mics worn during tournaments. He was one that always said "no thanks"' when approached about wearing one during an event. It still came back to bite him in the ass.

mikeintopeka I don't think he was mic'd up. But, by what you've stated, he probably pissed someone off, with his decision/thoughts about it, and they got vengeance, by getting too close with their mic. He should get his vengeance also, in court. It's time to end this bullshit, once and for all. And the PGA is going to fine him.....for what, free speech????
