Best of 2016.....

@LBlack14 Aren't those new Champ putter grips AWESOME, especially for the price? Ever since I started carrying those in my shop I don't think I have sold a single Winn ProX or SuperStroke grip. Most people have told me they like the Champ better, and at less than 1/2 the price they're a no brainer! And if you like something more roundish like the Winn ProX rather than oval like the Champ C1, check out the Champ C1X. That one gets up a little closer to the price of the Winn or SuperStoke, but I still like the Champ better than both.

Major neck and spine surgery? Not goo hope you are doing well now. No golf for me this year. I had 3 major surgeries with 1 to go in December. I hope to be able to play some in 2017. As I am ready to be wheeled in for my 3rd surgery an assistant anathesiologist (please excuse the spelling) comes in and tells me because all that I have been through I am now at a much higher risk for a heart attack or a stroke! I'm thinking WTF I do not need to hear that. Surprised me because prior to my 1st surgery I passed the stress test with flying colors. Low risk. I'm sure what she said is true but I do not want to hear that stuff prior to going in to get gutted. Anyway hope I survive number 4. Anyone else ever told that before surgery??
Wow, Southside. Sounds rough. Good luck and best wishes.
I bought an old 11 degree Wishon driver off the B/S/T/ at fgi and gamed it all year. Next best purchase was an old Callaway Steelhead plus 3 wood that I picked up for 5 bucks at a garage sale. The thing ROCKS. Third best purchase was the set of TM rac irons I told y'all about in an earlier thread; this set was from an estate sale. $45 for the 4-PW.
Good year for equipment purchases for me, although nothing I bought is remotely "new" stuff.

Excellent jumbo grip and for about $8 shipped, exactly what I've been looking for, for this putter. Sold my Yes! Natalies because of it.
Evnroll putter. I noticed some PGA Tour guys playing it so I gave it a try. Rolls the ball beautifully and feels great. It kicked my Scotty out of the bag.
GLFTPS Which model did you choose?
Interesting concept with the milling differing from the center out to the off-center hits. Very similar to the putter I'm currently bagging (the MacGregor Sanibel) except that the Sanibel accomplishes the feat with a variable hardness insert rather than with precision milling. In either case, I think it's an outstanding concept and it really works. I've never used a putter as consistent as the Sanibel.

Ultra light driver experiment to regain some age related distance loss is going well
Have fought off issues with banana balls seemingly having solved that . Good back 9 holes. Had nice straight drives some were over 20 yds past my old G15 which I still love howsomever
ODE...I may make your list in 2017 with something fresh and different. Standby...An AlmoDesign is coming!
RSV..........Top Secret on all right now BUT I guarantee you'll be talking about it. I believe 2 or 3 of you I spoke of this about 2 years ago before I sold Geek Golf. And they ain't talking...!
Golfbuzz will be the first to see it and a contest for 1 or 2 AND a fair review by GolfBuzz.
Knowing you guys after all these years I think you are going to see something that truly makes sense!
"Maybe at least what the name is going to be, or what color it will be?"
It will be called the Spuzzomatic and the colour will be purple like the original SMT Nemesis

Can't wait !
Unless I see something truly innovative on the market these days. I'm sticking with the old school.
I'm not in competition, not even at the local level so, could not justify spending my kids future with very little difference to change my game . Which had been down from 80-90 rounds a year to less than half of that now.
I'd imagine with the current trending, when I get over 70, there would be even less golf in the cards.
My find of the year was the Wishon Sterlings.
