USPS sucks
Par4QC Why is that possible????
I've thought for a long time that USPS sold their sole out to the Amazon devil to get a big share of their business. And I truly believe they prioritize their Amazon deliveries to keep them happy. I know Trump railed on the deal those 2 have, even saying it was a money loser to USPS, but can you imagine how dire their financials would look if Amazon takes a walk?
mikeintopeka UPS states that over 13% of their biz last year was from Amazon. Mine always come through USPS, and on Sundays, many times.
Another new one on me.
Springfield, MA
From my house to Canada, delivered, USPS, in 10 days. Right on schedule.
BTW, shipping costs to there are just plain nasty. 2#= $41.
But, 4# was only $44!! FYI

I can't really complain about USPS, UPS or FedEx. I had a package put on a porch a block up the street one time (new driver for UPS) but nothing else worth mentioning. My USPS mailman and the UPS guy even automatically put my stuff in our garage if it looks like it's going to rain shortly or is raining or extremely windy and the package it lightweight. I think the difference is that I live in a very small town (2000-2100 people) and everyone knows everyone and the UPS facility for the area is also in our town so most of the drivers also live here.
USPS still has issues.
I've had packages from Amazon (not Prime) arrive in half the time as standard Priority Mail. Are
they pushing the Amazon packages along faster than their own Priority ? Sure seems like it
from my mail box. I'm been waiting for a package that is 45 miles from me for 4 days. Grrrrr.

Our mail carrier in VA is a friend. She stopped by yesterday to meet Sophie (thinking we had her). She and Birdie were very close. She says Amazon is delivering with their own trucks in our 'hood now, but she thinks that unless they build or rent local storage, they'll give the job back to USPS. She said Amazon was paying USPS $2.49/package to deliver. That sounds high to me.
Just talked with a fella on another site, he works for USPS, in Texas. Going back to work today, after being idle for 5 days.
WTF??
I've got a lot of boxes shipped out last Sat. that are still "somewhere". Of course, they all went to/through, the 'extreme' areas.
And....I'm off to the P.O. this a.m.. Life is good!!!
I didn't receive a single piece of mail Tuesday, Wednesay or Thursday, and, of course, Monday was a postal holiday.
Was supposed to have a priority mail package delivered Friday, but it showed delayed, and it isn't coming today, either.
Things don't work like they used to work in this country. We're on the decline.
Hope they all make it and the recipients understand it's not your fault. I had someone reach out to me thanking me for my patience this AM. Wasn't their fault that package's delayed.

I finally have a reason to join many of you in complaining about FedEx. I bought a couple dozen golf balls from golfballs.com . They were shipped from Lafayette, LA on Feb. 18th, They were checked in at the FedEx origin facility Lafayette, LA on Feb. 18 and left that facility on the evening of Feb 19th. At 1:24 AM on Feb. 20th they arrived at the FedEx facility in Indianapolis, IN. Today, Feb. 24, they are still at that facility. WTF??? Just sitting there for 4 days? I know they will likely blame the bad winter storm in the south for this but the shipment made it out of the south (Louisiana) to the midwest (Indiana) where the weather wasn't as bad...
My last post above must have the wrong date. I've got some boxes out that were sent on the 16th. No clue where they are today. I was just lucky enough to ship to Texas, MS(2), CT, FL, and just about any place that is not 'North of Chaos'. Guessing no one wants to work OT.
I have 2 tracking numbers that I have been watching. One I shipped out, the other is coming to me. They currently both say about the same thing, just different date.

In Transit, Arriving Late
Your package will arrive later than expected, but is still on its way. It is currently in transit to the next facility."

My Caiman irons finally arrived today via UPS ShartPost. They took quite a while to get to FL via UPS, then yesterday's tracking showed them handed over to USPS and added a USPS tracking # which showed as "delivered". FALSE! They weren't here yesterday. They were delivered today via UPS. Not sure how they got back to UPS from USPS.
