That is a totally uninformed post. Did you read my post? Yes, the concept has been around for many years. But, the new clubs have tweaked the concept.

    Actually I did. So far I love the 4 clubs I have assembled. Will be putting the rest together tonight. Playing tomorrow.

                  And I suspect that the "thousands" ValueGolf is referring to are just those sales of his product, the Pinhawks. There are thousands of sets (probably tens of thousands) of other brands sold as well, including Sterlings and 1Irons.

They would be stupid not to as it would also improve their game. But they are not stupid. Duh.

                        Successful troll is successful

                          All these darn hack ideas coming out. Cavity backs, hybrids, lightweight shafts, club and ball fittings, Sl irons. Ruining the game.

                          Personally, SL irons make a ton of sense to me. The distance gapping was always an issue in my mind, but many different ways have been shown to overcome this. I will be gaming a set next year. Not sure which one, will see what looks good to my eye.

                          And I like traditional length irons. I hit irons (long included) and FW's very well, suck with driver and hybrids. But I hit an 8 iron a heck of a lot more consistently than a 4 or 5. So if I can hit a 5 iron with the distance of a 5 and the consistency of an 8, why wouldn't i?

                          Haven't seen any on the golf course nor the driving range yet, will keep an eye open and report the firs sighting.

                            I am going to take a long look at the Cobra single length set. My intention is to get fitted for a new set of irons this year and I will have to put these on the list. The concept intrigues me, as I have hit a single length set in the past and if they have rectified or improved upon the technology it might be a go.

                            Here's where I see a problem with this coming from a big oem company. Over the years companies have been decreasing loft and increasing shaft length in order to advertise the "longest hitting irons you've ever played". So people are playing with clubs too long for them. It screws with their posture and they end up doing a million little moves to compensate. It's one of the reasons your average hacker hits their short irons so much better than mid and long irons. Now their clubs are all the same length which i don't see a problem with as long as they are the correct length for the player. Most people who buy these won't do a custom fitting and it's going to lead to a lot of bad reviews.

                              God I hate that. My game has nothing in common with a tour pro's. I don't care what ball or clubs they use, it has no meaning to my game.

                                theres enough evidence and validation out there from the companies who have been selling SL clubs to more than substantiate that the system has been successful for many golfers.
                                Will it be a game changer for everyone, of course not, but reducing variability and improving consistency will help many after they make the adjustment . For the high to mid capper, I think they will be well received as the component versions have been.

                                  Who cares if SL is just for hacks? Not saying it is, but there's way more hack golfers than single digits. If I were a club manufacturer, I'd cater to that hack crowd. If SL can bring a little more joy to hack golfers, what's wrong with that?
