DC300 I agree re the forgiveness....imo the prophet CB,s surpass any iron I've played for forgiveness.....actually have gotten used to the different feel/sound on these and since demoing a non hi cor iron, the feel is much more blah.....nothing major for me, but def noticeable. I need a flat lie so the CB,s will be in retirement for now.

It will be interesting to see how these sell....pretty cool they have a players version/forged and a GI set to choose from. They are still off the rack though, just single length off the rack. I wander what custom options would be available?

DC......did you change phone numbers? been trying to contact you.

"Years" ago single length clubs were a big deal for a short period of time. Did not last long or really improve anyone's game. I tried a few irons the same length because the concept made sense to me at the time. I believe I had the 6 iron on down to the wedges all the same length.

Some irons I hit further and of course some not nearly as far. Hated it. it really is a stupid concept. 🙂

Not all "Single Length" sets are the same. I have played 3 sets of different brands of SL irons. I currently have a set of Wishon Sterling SL's in the bag and they have improved my game substantially. I think what has helped me using the the SL concept is getting the heads to an 8 iron weight. The others I tried at at 6 and 7 iron length were not as successful. And you don't have to change your swing or make any adjustments. My 8 ron has always been my favorite iron. Now I have a bag full of favorite irons.

I think Bryson is an example of how SL can work but I think his swing is a bad example for the average bear who wants to try it.

Buy a set and try it for a year and then tell me what you think. As I said it is nothing new. It is an old concept. If it was that great it would have been around for many years. I't just recently resurfaced because one guy had success with it. Think about that. I would say if Jason Day, Phil, Dustin and the other top pros switch to it then maybe there is something there. Let me know when they switch over. 🙂

That is a totally uninformed post. Did you read my post? Yes, the concept has been around for many years. But, the new clubs have tweaked the concept.

Actually I did. So far I love the 4 clubs I have assembled. Will be putting the rest together tonight. Playing tomorrow.

Always funny when someone who does not post much brings up "it's an old concept" like they are informing everyone of this fact.

        Everyone. Knows. This.

I guess I will tell our literally thousands of happy SL players that the concept does not work.

          ValueGolf

          Really ?
You had sold thousands of set of S.L. iron ? That is just amazing . Maybe it is picking up.
Like the e-commerce were predicted never to take off a few decades ago.

Also funny that they use the old "if a tour player doesn't use it or do it, it sucks" argument.
            LOL

And I suspect that the "thousands" ValueGolf is referring to are just those sales of his product, the Pinhawks. There are thousands of sets (probably tens of thousands) of other brands sold as well, including Sterlings and 1Irons.

Correct. I think many folks don't realize how much single length is moving the needle.

Apparently because Jason Day doesn't play them. (eye roll)

I see so some of you are saying that SL irons are just for hacks. Not for those with better handicaps. Got it. Well maybe they do work for hacks. I don't know. Good luck suckers and keep chasing that dream and wasting your money on gimmicks. If the concept was truly any good of course better players would embrace it. They would be stupid not to as it would also improve their game. But they are not stupid. Duh.

ummm, nobody said that, just you.

Keep posting while I get some popcorn.

                  Successful troll is successful

All these darn hack ideas coming out. Cavity backs, hybrids, lightweight shafts, club and ball fittings, Sl irons. Ruining the game.

Personally, SL irons make a ton of sense to me. The distance gapping was always an issue in my mind, but many different ways have been shown to overcome this. I will be gaming a set next year. Not sure which one, will see what looks good to my eye.

And I like traditional length irons. I hit irons (long included) and FW's very well, suck with driver and hybrids. But I hit an 8 iron a heck of a lot more consistently than a 4 or 5. So if I can hit a 5 iron with the distance of a 5 and the consistency of an 8, why wouldn't i?
