Merle, Waylon, Willie, George, Hank, etc... you mention those names today and nobody knows who they were. Don't get me wrong, I like some modern country music. Huge fan of Garth Brooks, the former Brooks and Dunn, etc.. back in the 90's. But those aforementioned names were staples on the old am/fm radio sitting in my mom's kitchen back in the day. Good memories.

Dave Schools... sounded a bit like Gov't Mule, I thought. Good ol' southern rock/blues never gets old. 🙂

Nice UGA connection my daughter can appreciate too.

Pack's lead vocals, Chris North rocking that Hammond... it just doesn't get smoother than that. Timeless.

Shared a few drinks with Simply Red's former lead guitarist, Mark Jaimes, in London back in 2012. He crossed over to the Smooth Jazz genre in the late 2000's and plays lead for the some of the more modern, popular smooth jazz artists touring the local London areas. Seemed like a really down-to-earth guy who just really loves what he does for a living. The following year he noticed me in attendance at this hole-in-the-wall place in Soho and bought me a few beverages. Cool cat, that guy, with a memory like an elephant. My only real claim to brush with fame is rubbing elbows with him on a few occasions.

All those guys have some interesting stories that they'll take to their graves with them. Especially in crazy town Soho!

I was listening to the soundtrack to the movie Wonder Boys.....love it. First to last song. Lots of Bob Dylan (later stuff), but many other artists/songs on that album that I've grown to love.
