My girls fell to Dayton Wayne tonight and I'm heartbroken for all of them, especially the 3 seniors.

Taking me a bit of time to reflect.
Came out tight in the 1st quarter and fell behind 18-4. Too many UNFORCED turnovers throughout, but they battled their asses off. Cut it to 2 a couple times inside 3 minutes and just couldn't get over the hump. Honestly, had to beat the š¦ as well, but that damn 1st quarter. Any close call went against them. Kyla was dominant (29pts, 6 rebs*, 10 blocks) and paid for being bigger and stronger than anybody on the court. Not taking anything away from Wayne, they are a good squad. Just saying.
Was an honor and pleasure to get to watch these girls overcome, adapt and battle. My heart hurts for every single one of them. Love every single one of them, from top to bottom of my heart. I'm so happy Pay got to experience it and learn from the others. I hope she learns from it, not only for basketball, but for her life's endeavors.
I can't thank the seniors, Marilyn Popplewell (WARRIOR personified) C.C. Carey (leader) and Kate Cooper (does her job well) enough for setting an example and showing what it takes to be successful, not only on the š court, but in life. You all WILL BE SUCCESSFUL. I wish you 3 nothing, but the best in everything you wish to accomplish in life. I hope all the underclass women heed their examples.
Continued success to all the girls, including both JV teams. You all and Mason's women's basketball program have a bright future. Continue to endeavor to persevere!!!
Thank you to Coaches Matulla, Dugeon and Coach Bill for your time and dedication to these ladies. It's very much appreciated! May the future years be blessed with continued success, both on and off the court.
Thank you for allowing my family to be a part of it all.
- I question the rebounds, should have been more like 16 rebounds for Kyla.
