I have had a clic gear 3.0 forever......thing is $, best money I ever spent on golf gear. They do go on sale periodically direct from cg......you can still get a 3.5 or the new 4.0.....pricey but worth it. eBay not a bad option for used. Otherwise pay attention to the weight....buddy got the 4 wheel clicgear and the thing was a monstrosity and heavy.....noticably heavier when I pushed it.

I bought my dad a caddytek from Costco for around 100....very nice for the money and they get a lot of good reviews. Might be something to look into.....seem to show up periodically on their site.

I echo your comments about the ClicGear 3.0. My wife surprised me with one for Christmas about 4-5 years ago, and it's worn like a tank! I did have to replace the hill brake this winter, but other than that, no problems. It also
folds up into a fairly compact (2' x 3' ??) package and fits in my trunk easily.

I've got a Bag Boy cart that must be 15 years old by now. Still works great. I wonder what the new ones must be like, but the old guy still works so well I don't need to replace it. Playa is right, they do get your trunk messy at times. In my sedan, the cart and a bag does pretty much fill it up.

Just not many walking options in SoCal.

I remember you were using a cart when we played Sky Links. Trunk issue isn't a problem. I have a Subaru Hatchback with a rubber liner. My daughter's softball gear convinced me to put the liner in.

Consider a light 3 wheel cart. I have a more complicated 4 wheeler with a seat and everything and I hate it. I'm contemplating getting a Rickshaw.

That's basically the model I have, albeit a bit more updated. Mine has to be close to 10 years old.

Like Pa-playa, that's the one I have but mine's older. Does everything I could ask for, rolls smoothly, hand brake, umbrella holder, drink holder. I don't walk much anymore, maybe use it once a year or so. It does take up a lot of trunk space. The clic gear's fold up smaller if that's an issue.

I got a Qwik-Fold 3 wheel cart May of 2018 for when I use more clubs with larger bag. Normally I walk with 6-9 clubs and a single strap Jones Players Series. The Qwik-Fold is a good push car at $139 2 years ago Amazon. Now I see they are up to $199 at that price I don't feel they are as good a buy. The Qwik-Fold may fold away small and easier than some but basically they all are designed much the same. I guess it depends if you intend to use a push cart a lot. I don't so I didn't want to spend a lot of $$$. Those that use a push cart a lot IMO should spend the money and get a good one.....nothing wrong with the Qwik-Fold either though probably as good as anything out there.

I had a Clic Gear for quite a while and loved it. Unfortunately mine kept breaking each season and it was getting annoying to fix it. Just a fluke I guess because several of my buddies bought them a season or 2 after me and have had no issues. My family got me a Bag Boy Tri Swivel a few years ago and that's worked well too. I like the integrated cupholder better and it seems to roll better. Both folded up fairly small although I think the Clic Gear opened and closed a bit easier.

I bought a used one ( 3 wheeler) 4 years ago for $50 and its great. I used it a lot at first but sin e i get a free drive cart and am usually zipping around after my shift haven't used it much past 2 seasons.

I plan on walking more this year, probably carry much of the time unless its an event or competition then will push cart it, take a drive cart on the drunken boyz trips and after work or when the course mandates one

azgreg yep...wheels look huge.....sure it's easy to push! My only hesitation would be having to balance...seems like it would be harder work vs. a 3 wheeler, but ?

I have a Bag Boy Quad. It's fairly heavy but works well. It folds up to be quite compact. The only real detractor for me is that it can be unstable on side hills but I assume any of them can be.

I also have the Bag Boy Quad and am very happy with it. I wish my Ping Pioneer bag would have been shaped better to work with the Quad better (round bag vs square bottom with rounded corners). On a bumpy section, the bag will sometimes twist and hit the front wheels with the front pocket.
So, that's something to pay attention to is how the bag will fit on the cart.
I expect my cart to last for a long time and will likely outlast my bag as during our twilight league, I always use a powered cart because of the hilly course.

I have always seen a 2-wheel cart as a "pull cart" and 3 or 4 as a "push cart".

Sure, you can push a 2-wheeler as well, but it is likely to at some point, tip too far upright and the base will dig into the turf and you run into the handle or worse (depending on how much you are paying attention). ;-)

Back in the day, before they had come out with the 3-wheelers, I knew a guy who did that constantly! We used
to take bets before a round on "how many times Ted will run into his own cart...?!!"
