ok. Sandbag round today has been completed. I could only muster an 87 today. Too many misses to the right with the driver. Handicap is at a 13.0. I played with one of the most annoying individuals I have ever encountered on the golf course today. On at least 10 holes he was making some kind of noise during someones swing. I called him when he hit the gas on his cart right in the middle of my down swing, called him on it again a couple of holes later when he is having a full blown conversation when I am standing on the tee trying to tee off. A couple of holes later I am in my putting stance on the green adn getting ready to make my stroke and he let's his wedge fall on the green 6 feet behind me with a loud thud. At that point I let out a very loud and audible JC to let him know I was not happy about it. Just a complete unaware not carrying about anyone else individual. I could excuse it if he were a young guy but he was in his 60's and was not a stranger to the golf course. Asshole!

Was going to wait till Phoenix but think it will help you better. We'll change after each round before Saturday.
Current index 16.9 as of 9/1/20.

I'm up to 11.8 today. When do we lock in the interest rate? 😁

I only get good bounces off of trees - the desert rocks are reserved for that creep with the LPGA 7 Wood!

One more thing for Saturday players - and I do not have to know now, but if you know please go ahead...

What tees do you want to play from on Saguaro? The sheet currently defaults to the Whites, but people can play where they are happy - its easy to adjust. Here is the default breakdown (although it seems they always move the tee boxes around)...

Composite: 5786 yards, 120 slope. Some will play from here.
White: 6252 yards, 125 slope. Most from here.
Purple: 6603 yards, 132 slope. Maybe a few here.
Saguaro: 6966 yards, 137 slope. You're nuts, good luck to ya.

If you were not paying attention to a recent entry for Saturday - its a blast from the past - DarthFader!
Even as a much smaller event than usual, this should be fun!

I am good with the white tees. It's a fair challenge from that distance and slope.

Hobbit, white tees are fine for me.
FauxAmish,, looking forward to it. I trust we'll play together more than a few times, given we are playing 9 rounds in 5 days 🙂
Weirfan, Thanks. No promises on playing well, but I'll try to have fun anyway. See u in 2021.

Reminder about Saturday (or what ever day you can play)...

The Desert Storm Championship (Saturday, September 12th) - can now be competed in virtually.
It will be a Beat Your Handicap day. Play with your normal Saturday group, or anywhere you want. Just post the scorecard here when done. We will calculate based upon 75% of your handicap.

    Scoring Requirements:
    Slope from the tees played

Complete each hole according to the rules of golf, no gimmes.
(PS - we do shun, with prejudice, the 14 club rule. Ain't no USGA gunna stop these HOs!)

We will host a Zoom Meeting that evening to announce the results, share stories, and have a drink.

This Will be a very unique and important step for our founder jrock and his continual vision of FGI.
He has changed the website because of another approach. And let's all stand behind and honor His pandemic vision and Hobbit's determination. These efforts are not in vain. They are to continue.
There will be 4 of us from outside on the ground Wednesday night. Not a bragging thing , and then joined by two from California who wanted to be in Arizona but have to honor their solemn committments to their jobs, and not leave their state ... and they will meet us in San Diego and then Palm Springs but still a continuation.
We will not let things disappear and become a continual url to - oblivian.
FGI Died a horrible, perhaps appropriate death. Not going to happen this year to BUZZ.
