I'll start. Vertex AW on SK Fiber TT75R shaft. Cleveland Launcher HB 5W on UST 55 Gold R shaft.

Today I Frankensteined together some Maltby TS-1 irons. Bought a set of TS-1 on ebay with some way too manly shafts for me, and a while back bought a set of Pings that had Penley IMS graphite shafts. So this weekend I did the swap, putting the IMS shafts on the TS-1 heads. The Ping install had done a manual taper of the 370 IMS shafts, but they seemed to fit fine into the universal hosel of the TS-1s.

This set also has the GW, which I am missing in my gamer set of TS-1s. The IMS are low launch, rare for graphite. Also, these TS-1 heads are 2* up, which I have been fitted for a couple of times but haven't tried until day. I think this will certainly end my streak of 46+ years without a hole-in-one.

Shocked to find the weight profile of the IMS shafts - super tip heavy. No tip weights, standard graphite length, everything came out D4-D5. I haven't tried that SW heavy in a long time.

candukid Yeah I will find out. I had this one on a home built bench several years ago. It takes a lot of force to lift a bench like that with a 24” lever on the middle of the bench. I should go ahead and try it this afternoon.

I mounted it. It’s solid. I bent a 431 iron all four ways. I’m happy! 🙂

The throat on this bending bar is 1.25”. It’s too deep for most hosels today. Anyone have one to sell that’s 1.0 to 1.125” ?

Decided not to chance it. I skiied once in the last 32 years and that was last year this time with the same guy. So I’m not exactly and avid skier. I just went to do it with him but he just meets me at the bottom anyway and we just ride the lift together.

I know groins can be a nagging thing and after it feeling better last week after a few days, I swung a club a bit harder and put myself back to square one. Feels better again now but I don’t want to fuck it up again especially doing this.

Ill go and just have some beers. That area has some delicious Tuckermans Pale Ale.

candukid Well you were right! Upon using it for real, where I mounted the LL machine, when I try to bend stronger, it lifts the bench. I'll have to try a different mounting location where it won't be able to lift the bench. That means I'll probably have to have two different mounting locations for different bends. Which is less than optimal but will work for my occasional use. I don't have room to dedicate to a post mount, or at least I'd rather not do it. I think I can make it work on the bench.

Try some counter weighting in the bottom.
Maybe build an extra shelf if you have to.
My buddy's bench was a heavy cabinet laid on it's side and it was filled with full paint cans and what not.
Couldn't budge it whatsoever.
Or you could bolt it to the floor?

Spuzz Thanks, all good ideas. I can stock up on softener salt and stack some on the shelves already on there, as a first step.

Tapcon concrete screws do a great job and make a minimal size hole in the concrete. 1/4" screws inserted at least one inch into the concrete. Or can you screw it to some studs in the wall?

Rickochet Anchoring to the floor would have the best result. It’s the front of the bench that wants to lift.

I sunk nuts into the concrete. Ones that are self anchoring. I can then set up my machine in the middle of the shop and bend away. Then I unbolt it and put it back in the corner

can you anchor the legs of the bench to the concrete? Angle iron cut to 1” lengths could be easily attached to the legs of the bench and then anchored to the floor? Or I’m sure Home Depot or Lowe’s would have some kind of bracket made up for decking applications.

colej Yeah, that seems very do-able. You are right, there are various construction tie pieces that would work. Even simple angle pieces would do it.
