I notice a lot of times the graphics are oriented by the manufacturer so that the 6-12 plane is the softer CPM plane and the 3-9 plane is the firmer plane. I always figured the 3-9 should be the softer plane. But the shaft industry doesn't seem to agree.

If you care about it, which orientation do you assemble at for the the harder and softer planes?

One thing for sure, shafts have come a long way. It's pretty rare for me to find more than 3 CPM difference around a shaft. I remember when it could be 10. Those were the spiney Type 2 shafts that could be on rails if you got them installed right. Now I feel like you can pretty much just glue and go, graphics up or down. I still like to find the FLO, because I can.

Finished these Tm 790 for a customer. When I ordered the RT75 shafts for this build. This new shaft showed up for me to demo.

          I told him there'd be an "adjustment period". He has Wishon 830CL hybrids with the S2S graphite in mid irons and he launches them very well. He says his irons feel "heavy".

                Par4QC That why Wishon heads are so good for adjustment of heft match with the hosel weight port. Most that use swing weight seem to have a hard time getting the heft match correct with impact testing. D-1 with 55g graphite or 70g graphite and D-1 with 120g steel ain't even close. ☺

                  I'm waiting and waiting on Hireko for some high loft fairway heads. Man, why don't they just raise their shipping to 9.99 and use a regular service that doesn't go by camel? I know, wrong thread.

                  Edit: 6 minutes after I wrote that, the package came. It pays to complain!

                  Round two since I had another. My torch and prep work were much better this time around. Shaft later, and new grip when it actually gets here...
