I'll start. Vertex AW on SK Fiber TT75R shaft. Cleveland Launcher HB 5W on UST 55 Gold R shaft.

Sparky Great looking set!! My current set of irons only cost me about $65 bucks! Found a set of senior graphite shafts I had forgotten I had, had plenty of grips, so bought a set of Acer heads from Hireko, and I've been playing them ever since. I just located another set of shafts, so my next "El Cheapo" set will be some Dynacraft Prophets later this summer.....PS. Nice looking workshop too....WAY neater than mine!!

I had an office that was a 1 minute drive to Golfsmith. It was great. I actually took my first club building class there. They had the indoor hitting bay, putters galore and I could ship my orders for free to the store. Grips galore including the Medalists line that were $2 a piece in store. Made friends with the head club builder and got tons of tips from him when I first started building clubs. Ah, the good ole days. Now my work is 5 minutes from a PGA Superstore and I have only gone in a handful of times and usually come out empty handed.

How long did you build it? When they're that light, I'd be tempted to build it between 46 and 47 inches to
maximize distance potential ala Bernie Baymiller (of course, I'm 6'6"!).

As long as I could! No trim. The shaft is 46, and the head has a deep hosel. After the epoxy dries, I'll measure it and post a pic.

Note: I used to be 6'0"........ 😀

sdandrea1 Building a lightweight driver. Got an Integra 175 offset, Integra Soooooo Long shaft and a Winn lightweight grip. Parts came today. Head weighs 180, shaft is 41, grip is 21. That's 242 plus some epoxy and a ferrule, so it should be sub-250g. Can it compete with the XXIO Prime? Testing on Tuesday.

Having had lots of experience with over length drivers, pay attention to the flex. My experience is that
stepping up a flex (to reg) may be needed or....great, slower tempo. YMMV. Oh, to keep your buddies off
your ass, make sure it is under 48" USGA. 😀

No problem there. I couldn't swing anything longer than 46". I'm not very sensitive to swingweight, so I'll figure out how to hit it.

The big difference here is head weight. We aren't just talking about over length drivers. The one Steve is building has a 175g head. I don't care if you play it 48" or 45" if you don't have the proper flex (softer) you aren't going to be able to load the shaft. The general consensus when these 175g heads popped up several years ago was you needed to go 1 if not two flexes softer. Most never did this for ego reasons or used an old pullout from a 195g head never had any success.

OTT move is no good with extra long club, so stick with it and maybe you will learn to hit a draw with your regular driver.
I used to practice with full length drivers (over 48") and it helped me get rid of my fade.

You can always grip down - stick that sucker in there and swing away like Spuzzer told you. Be a good boy.
