Taki27 ode I hear you. I just asked Golfworks to pick a heavy 3 wood head for me. The advertised weight is 205, +/- 3. They gave me 205.7 (listed on the head). I guess it’s better than 203
ode Taki27 you'd been better off ordering a heavier weight screw....that's assuming you didn't already plan that to get the weight up even more with the heavier/ist screw.
shokosugi 205 is still light but maybe I'm old school where a stock driver weight was 200g, 3 wood was 210g etc
colej shokosugi same here. I like my driver around 200-205 3 wood at least 210 and 5 wood around 218-220
Taki27 ode I have a few 14s. I was going to make a shorter 3 wood. After it came in I became weak and ordered a hot melt gun (which just came today). I may goo this bad boy so badly that I am rocking a 42 inch UFW 3 wood that is as muted as a persimmon. I know Colej said that it sounds like an aluminum bat, but probably not after I add 10 grams of hot melt😂
colej Taki27 just make sure you warm the tip of that hot melt gun as it’s warming in the holder. In the holder the cartridge gets warm but the long tip really doesn’t. Warm that long tip up a couple 5 minutes after you plug in.
ode Taki27 it definitely has that aluminum/hollow sound. Not horrible, but it's there. Melt should help tame it to an acceptable level!
Taki27 colej thanks for the reminder. I saw that online, but I don’t think I would have heated the tip long enough.
ode colej yeah, me not being a sound/feel guy doesn't really help, but even I noticed it. I'd say a decent head otherwise!
Taki27 ode I am a huge sound guy. The deader the better for me. That could be why the Geek FS2 may be my favorite head of all time. Though it makes more sense to add the melt before I assemble, it would be really cool to see how much 10 grams of hot melt would deaden the sound.
ode Taki27 cotton balls/yarn could work too......wouldn't add too much weight considering there's not a lot of room in a fwy head.....maybe ~ 5g or so. If you want the 5w let me know.....I have no use for it. Yours for the cost of shipping.
Eguller Keep in mind where the hotmelt is situated inside the head. To deaden the sound more, shake the head just after the hotmelt is added to speed it out evenly. Obviously, if you want to heal weight for draw bias, or toe for fade, do that.
Typhoon Has anyone checked to see if that adapter works in a Callaway head and vice versa? Also maybe google the Callaway adapter settings and compare it to the chart posted earlier. Whats funny is more options is more confusing.
Taki27 Back to the Maltby TC Driver. I do love the idea that I can place the shaft in the head in the orientation I like. I like to put logos down on the shaft and add lead tape, but don't like looking at it. Does anyone know if there are any plans to make the woods with the adapters?
Nat I have a demo of the TC driver head. If anyone wants to try it send me an email. Nrobin321@gmail.com
Eguller Nat I have a demo of the TC driver head. If anyone wants to try it send me an email. Generous offer. I wonder if we could do a demo tree like we use to do on FGI ? Keep it for a week and then pass it on. Cost involved, but maybe shipping and an extra adapter sleeve. Just a thought. Sounds like there are several of us who would like to try it before buying. Thoughts ?
