Par4QC Rickochet Use short strokes and pull out to clear then plunge back in. That's gonna take all night! Rickochet And she should use proper eye protection.
meagain As long as the vees cut into the wood are accurately cut as in they hold the shank vertically. One other thing you want to check is the tram of your spindle. That is making sure that the spindle is 90 degrees to the table. Don't trust the markings. On a mill one would use a dial indicator and sweep the table. I get it within .0005 over a 6" sweep for tool and die work.

meagain A drill if not perfectly sharpened can cut a lot bigger than its size. Reamer much safer if wanting a properly sized hole. Do most of Yinz club builders have a drill press? Do not hold it in your hand. That's a good way to lose a finger or two or even worse. Unless you are Canadian.
candukid When i say slow speed i mean SLOW. I had no problems. With a 3/8 bit i sure as hell wouldn’t hold it by hand. Remember you are only taking .015 using a reamer. The 3/8 doubles that. Too much.

My mistake for some reason I had the size of .390 in my brain. Sorry about that. I'll bet that the .370 hosel is slightly oversize to allow .370 shaft to fit and allow for epoxy. Get out your gage pin set and check it?
Par4QC sdandrea1 3/8" =.375. You should be getting a lot of 'play', esp. after prepping the tips. Careful. But, with those bore throughs, you can just run a screw, with a washer on it, up the end of the shaft. It won't fly off then. 🤣 🤯 🤣
