Looking for a new(er) car
Pacer? LOL! I remember these two chicks cruising the Douglas loop in WIchita,KS which was the big thing to do back in the 80's. I remember my buddy telling me he wouldn't allow me to pursue any chicks driving or riding in a Pacer. That elitist cost me maybe my future wife.
Girls in Pacers Rule!
SVonhof See if you can find a car broker when you figure out what you want. Tell them what it is you are looking for (model, mileage, year, color, options, price range) and be patient. They will check all the auctions and such and see what they can get for you.
This. I used a broker to find my BMWs and a GMC Jimmy and never had an ounce of problems or ever a reason for buyer's remorse after I took delivery. He'd attend auctions a couple of times a week with a pocket full of wish lists from his clients always on the lookout to fill orders. When he spotted something that would fit what I was looking for, he'd call before the car rolled through the line to get my approval. EZPZ and the savings were incredible since you are buying at what a dealer would pay for it wholesale and his fee was just a few $100.
meagain Did you ever have a Pacer? I remember when my local dealer had brand new Rambler Scramblers on his lot. Can't remember ever seeing one for years. Not even on the car auctions, though I may have missed them.
I had an AMC Spirit hatchback. It was a sporty little ride with the cast iron 4l and 4 speed and a really nice interior. I think it was about the time AMC went belly up.

Love Canada, but also love the US.....and while I like to snowmobile and ice fish, cold winters and no golf for 4 months so but would like to spend part of my winters in a warmer climate. 2-3 months maybe in an area where I have a number of friends who winter Florida, or live Phoenix ?
But we're straying off Kcee's car topic.....

I'm ready to stray off it! Wasn't really finding anything nearby that I could look at. All of a sudden today a bunch of cars popped up on cars.com though so maybe cars are coming off leases now? Of course during my commute this morning, I was thinking "why should I get another car? this car is still a great car and do I really want another car payment?"
Worked at a Honda dealership as a salesman for 5 years before I retired. The most annoying disgusting job I ever worked. Terrible hours, asshole management, bad pay, scumbag workmates, pain in the ass costomers. After 5 years I was the most senior seniority employee in the place. I took my pension as soon as I could ( I had a DuPont pension I could take at 62). I refused to badger people on the phone or answer endless dead beat e mails. If someone wanted to come in and talk about, test and negotiate a car deal I enjoyed it and done well. The Honda customers where especially quirky. I like selling something that people are passionate about but Honda people act like theyβve shopping for a refrigerator.
