Think I'm finally going to retire my current ride. 13 year old Acura TL with 170K miles. Car is still going strong and I'm sure I could easily go another few years, but I have the itch.

I think I want a sporty sedan again. I like the utility of an SUV, but I don't like driving them as much and my wife has a 2015 Acura MDX I borrow when I need it. I started looking around and don't really care for the newer Acura's. I am preferring BMW and Audi. Yes I have become a bit of a snob with my cars. I must have heated seats again and I wouldn't say no to a heated steering wheel. I'm open to anything that fits the bill though. Any recommendations?

    Whoa...I see they were just sold. Guy that used to own them looked just like Tom Brady.

    Haven't been on the site in quite awhile, but i worked there for a brief period. Cars priced 1k over what they buy them for at auction... or at least used to be.

    If you see something you like, you better get there quick. That place use to churn a thousand cars a month.

        One of the head mechanics at the used car place I was at told me when I asked what cars he would recommend for mechanical integrity: Lexus, Toyota, Acura, Honda... those are the Top 4.

        I like Infiniti. I got to drive all kinds of high-end cars like Benz, Beamers, etc. and those were my favorite to drive.

          SVonhof How about an Audi A5 Sportback?

          Yeah I'd love one, but probably even used it's more than I'm willing to spend. I'm being semi cheap with this car and actually spending a bit less than I spent on the TL 13 years ago lol. Limiting my budget to around $30K. I've seen some nice 2016 models in great shape that still have some factory warranty left. I've seen a few nice A6 cars. I would actually prefer a hatchback and did test drive both a BMW 3 and 5 series GT which were nice.

            meagain I would add Mazda 6. Take a look and a test drive. You will be sold.

            I do think that's a nice looking car. I had one as a rental recently and was impressed with the interior and ride... although it could use some horsepower. I didn't drive it, but saw a very lightly used loaded 2018 model with the turbo. I was leaning towards an AWD drive car this time though. The even with FWD the TL was never very good in the snow. I've had winter tires the last few winters which have helped, but it really detracts from the ride.

              How about a Lexus RC if you want a smaller 2-door or GS if you want a larger 4-door?

              My commuter car is a 2006 Lexus ES330 that I got with 72k on it. It runs great and was $10k. The fit, finish and quality is great and I know you can get a GS or RC for under $30k as well.

                SVonhof I was going to look at a Lexus GS, but haven't seen too many used ones around. Just started looking though.

                  ode Yeah my coworker recently bought a Camry hybrid in this awesome blue. It's kinda boy racer looking, but pretty cool. It definitely stands out lol.

                    Tinker It is a nice looking car. If they made an AWD version they could steal sales from Audi and BMW. I've always been a Honda guy, but I think the 6 may be a little nice than the Accord. I tried a 428i Gran Coupe xdrive last night though and that was sweet. A bit small, but they give you a hatchback.

                        KCee if I was in the market and I didn’t mind the cost I’d get an Alpha Romeo Giulia in a heart beat. That’s my taste but not my budget.

                            Yeah that looks to be a really fun car to drive. I figure it's probably not very reliable, but my brother is a mechanic so maybe I will take a look for a used one. I think I did see a few used ones, but I think they were loaded and above my price point like the A5 Sportbacks.

                                Ch. out Subaru,Legacy,WRX etc.,very reliable,go for ever,high resale value and not too pricey.

                                Recently had Honda CRV and then 2 Mazda CX-5's. Thought they are considered to be in the same class. There was no comparison in every category the Mazda is way better. Interiors are amazing. They are more of a sporty handling car and do have a slightly harsher ride. Have driven a new Mazda 6, and really liked it, plus beautiful car.

                                KCee my brother is a mechanic so maybe I will take a look for a used one.

                                I had a string of 5 BMWs over the years and I had a trusted mechanic that was very reasonable and sensible. When he left for So Carolina, the two other indy foreign car shops I tried to use were as arrogant as the local BMW dealer. Our local dealer was a cheapskate so they didn't stock many parts. They were buying them from the KC dealer until they shut him off because they didn't like floor planning his parts department. It always took two visits to get anything fixed while we always waited for parts. Absolutely loved the cars though and got involved in the region's BMW car club; the track time and socials were a blast.
