I was waiting to hear from Uncle Steve about what he thought he could glean from knowing someone's age. He's a bright guy. I just wanted to see him put it out there what his perspective was based on age, before I "come out".
In all seriousness, I don't like knowing anyone's age here. The only time I'd be interested is if someone was coming across very young. I'd be curious to know if they were typing from mom's basement.

Just curious about the demographics. A member in his/her 20s or 30s has experienced a lot less of life's bumps and bruises than the more seasoned members. I don't judge. I just value the perspectives accordingly. I perceive you as having been around a while. 
I DO NOT want this thread to hecome a generational discussion, but i can't control that.
Turned 74 in February, I can tell from stellar under 200 yd drives. Also nap like a baby after playing 18.
I'm refraining from posting my age because ZWE called me an "old prick" in another thread. 
He was nice enough to delete it, but I don't want to empower him, as I believe he's in his 30's. Anyone 40 or above is probably "old" to him.
I get what you're saying. I'm actually surprised by the postings. I guess I saw most everyone as a lot younger. Thought DC might have been a little bit older.
Have lots of questions for those that are my seniors but I'll hold'em as I don't want this simple exercise to go in another direction.

I hear what you're saying, BB......after walking 18 holes yesterday I came home, got on my inversion table until my back "cracked" a couple of times, did a couple of yoga stretches, ate dinner, then took a very hot bath in epsom salts!
Once my body "gets used" to playing golf again, I won't have to do all this stuff, but I've learned to be a little proactive if I want to feel good the next day.....
Something for you to look forward to: When I was 45 I also was swinging X-Flex (in woods) and continued to do so until about age 50. I was stiff flex in everything else. Now at age 69 I'm between Regular flex and Senior flex. My driver and irons are regular flex (although I have another shaft for the driver that is senior flex that I switch back and forth). My fairway wood is senior flex as is one of my 5 hybrids.

Ditto for me as well. Plus we hit from the Senior tees and don't get to the spot in the fairways where we used to land hitting from the tips 20 years ago. Still OK. Senior tees really help keep the game fun.
49... for now. Thankfully no one believes it, so I feel young still.

How long is your course from the senior tees? I read an article somewhere recently that said for my average drive (more or less 200 yards, hopefully) I should be playing a course at about 5400-5500 yards. Just a few years ago 6000 yards was about right for me, but now In my group we move up on par 3's over 180, par 4's over 370, par 5's over 500.
My home course is under 6000 from the whites, but it's tight as heck. Lots of heavy woods and OB as well as uneven fairways. There's even OB on the inside of the course. It's not a course you can overpower. The advantage for the big hitter is that they can club down; they can't really go over the trees for the most part. I've always lived nearby and avoided playing it because I felt it was too punishing. I only joined because of a fantastic 2 year deal, but it really beat me up last year lol.
