Par4QC I was barred, for life, after posting I use R flex graphite shafts.

I admitted I use A Flex graphite and they thought i was kidding........so they suspended me for deleting my ad after i sold the clubs. Seems fair.

I'll be able to read yer posts and "like" them but can offer no defense. Too easy!๐Ÿ˜‰

scotts33 Agreed! I like to look at ads to see what people are asking for things to get an idea of price, and the damn info is wiped out.

I sold an Adams strong 3-wood over there and it was the worst onine buying/selling experience of my life. Guy I sold it to was stalking me and trashing me. If memory serves, he was some hotshot attorney. I guess he thought since I was new over there I was going to be intimidated. He was trying to get me to give him a concession on the club because my pictures weren't good enough. The pics were good and fully representative of the club's condition. I stood my ground and he finally went away.

It was a wonderful feeling when I left that stuffy site. I didn't realize grown men could be that childish until I posted there for awhile.

I have never been comfortable with the GWX crowd and don't go there much. I still visit GEA on occasion. Anyone remember Ham and Egg or Bombsquad?

They are dicks about the classified adds, in a way itโ€™s kind of good. You have to have 75 posts, not more than one add at a time, old one has to be closed before a new one goes up, no incessant bumping, etc. Where they get crazy is, suspending people for not following the exact rules, no warning, just poof done. One of the old rules used to state any pulled shaft must have grips removed to prove there was no extension, but people wanted the grips left on so it didnโ€™t add to the cost of every shaft. Put a set of iron shafts up, left the grips on, sold them, got suspended AFTER, they sold because I hadnโ€™t followed that rule. I protested, found about 10 other adds with the same thing, probably got all those people in trouble too, just trying to prove it was a stupid rule.

The good thing is, they arenโ€™t near as cheap as all you guys here, at least there I get reasonable offers, just the other day a guy was willing to give me $16 shipped for a full set of Callaway irons, sight unseen! We all know Iโ€™d never get more than 75% of that here.

I think the point of the rule is to make sure all the info is still there in case of a dispute about the item sold.

I'm on a self-imposed mission to see if I can actually keep a set of irons for a year. I'm 6 months in, so while $36 is REALLY tempting, I'll have to pass.๐Ÿ˜‰

    • DonM replied to this.

scotts33 Why do posters delete information on an equipment sale? Other than adding SOLD.

It's an old habit from my days in IT. Useless data that does not need to be archived should be deleted. I tend to clean up disk space when I'm done with it.

Glad I never bothered to join.....I go there occasionally to get a review of a club, component, etc., but I get the sense that many there are trying to impress the others with their knowledge and abilities. Used to be a member of 4GEA as well, but that place has a few guys who are just plain trolls or jerks....remember the old Golf Channel DB??? This place (and the old FGI) seems to be much more friendly, collegial and laid back, IMO.....

I'm not nor have been a member there. But WRX has a vast wealth of information and i've used it many times in searches. They have an incredibly large membership ( unlike our 8-10 regular posters here ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) and following which includes many very knowledgeable people. Sift through the testoreone laiden claims and its an excellent resource.

Sounds a bit Draconian in their moderation methods but they can rule as they want. As Steve and DC300 said with many eyes , i can see why so many feel its the best place for those looking to sell and buy.

Steve, just use a vpn and register under another user name , pretty simple to get around a ban that way. That is if you want to continue to use the site to buy and sell

Steve, Sorry for the threadjack, but I noticed on another thread you mentioned that you play the Wilson Duo. I'm assuming that you've tried the Callaway Super Soft and/or the Titleist Tru-Soft? What do you find better about the Duo....are you just a 'Wilson guy?' I bought a dozen TruSofts at Mejier's the other night (b/c they were marked down
to $16.49/dozen), but looked at the Duo's too. At that price, I'll chose the Titleist every time.....but am I missing something? Just curious.....

I'm afraid to even say anything out of fear of being suspended. Yeah, they have alot of rules over there for the marketplace. I've put stuff on there before, never sold it but yeah...alot of rules.

I have my Project X shafts on there and its funny, I put an ad up maybe a year ago and when I went to do something with it, I couldn't. It wasn't locked...but I couldn't get it back to being current so I posted it again. One of the members was trying to be a smart ass and said something like, " too bad there aren't rules about double posting an item" or something like that.

I responded to him saying, " No kidding, I wish I could have edited my first one but for some reason you can't do anything with it...BTW, do you want them" he never responded.
