Is it me or is this DeChambeau guy becoming the biggest ass in pro golf?

What now? Is this about the handshake?

Definitely sounds like he was so pissed at his own performance that he didn't acknowledge his fellow player's victory. A little understandable, but not in the gentleman's tradition of the game. Almost makes him seem undeserving of the hat (which I don't like anyway for some reason which doesn't matter).
Not a big fan of him anyway....quirks.

I'm on record here in saying that I think he's much too analytical, that he makes the game appear much too difficult, and that he would fare much better letting go of some of that and figuring out a more balanced approach regarding mechanics and feel. He was an absolute nutcase on the practice range leading into the Open Championship... he looked totally lost. Videos are out there, look for yourself, no need to pile on. Not my desire.
I do think he's sincere in his response to the latest criticisms. It wasn't a good look. He didn't win over too many fans in Europe, who are the most well-behaved and educated fans in pro golf. It's not gonna change overnight. But let's give him some time to figure things out with regard to his at-times too-intense emotions and over analysis that leads to the spectacle that he became a few weeks ago. I think he recognizes he has golf mechanics/physics ADD. And he needs to figure out how to move beyond it.
I don't want to see this kid fail. He seems genuine, seems like a good kid who's just wired much too tightly mentally and mechanically. That's not to say that I don't think he couldn't benefit from a good swing coach who could potentially get him more relaxed and less result-oriented when he's playing. He definitely has some things to sort out with how he approaches the game imo.
Someone who can relate to him that he needs to better enjoy the experience, be less demanding of himself, relax and actually put himself in a comfortable frame of mind, not be so analytical and calculated.
None of those things currently describe Bryson's outward appearance when he plays. He doesn't look like he enjoys what he does for a living.
That needs to change. And once that does change - I think he'll benefit greatly from it. If it doesn't, he'll be little more than a flash in the pan and selling insurance for a living.

He won't be on the Ryder Cup team, unless he wins his way on.
Don't like him. Never did. Flash in pan. Pan is nearly scorched!
btw, that hat should be called an asshat. It fits well.
Weirfan This is my perspective as well. He didn't hurt anyone, didn't cheat, didn't steal, and no one is suggesting he did. I do not care what his demeanor is as he tries to perfect his craft. On the contrary, I appreciate that anything can be frustrating to a multi-millionaire who hits a little ball around for a living. Makes him somewhat relatable. I have felt that too.
Easy to judge. Makes some feel bigger/smarter. Often best not to.
He’s got a long way to go to catch Tiger in terms of blowing up, throwing the F bomb, etc.. Give the kid a break........

He is young, tightly wired and deserves a little more patience and understanding. Tiger, Sergio, Bubba, even my fav Phil have all faltered at times. We have forgiven them and realize that character sometimes can improve in time.
Here's Bryson if he doesn't get some psychiatric help soon:
One of our assts worked the JD Classic. Said the major majority felt the guy was an arrogant asshole.
Was watching one of the talking heads show on GC yesterday and they were saying that most of the tour players consider him a nice guy. They were also going down the list of all his top 10 finishes and saying that he deserves to be on the Ryder Cup team.
It's commonly accepted that the Ryder Cup is an emotionally-charged event with tons of pressure, some of the best and most seasoned Ryder Cuppers over the years have stated that it goes well above and beyond the stressors of that of a major championship.
As much potential as he has, yet based on his bipolar-like emotional mannerisms - he's still a ways away from having the type of mental control to handle that degree of pressure imo. They'd be doing this kid a favor if they didn't consider him.
The last thing he needs at this juncture of his career is more stress and scrutiny.
Give him some time to figure things out.

I always figured Bryson's ultra analytical approach meant he's a d!ck. This incident is proof.
Not a good look for him. He took the spotlight away from the guy winning his first event in 17 years or so. Gary Player has said that Jack Nicklaus was the best loser by the way he handled himself when he lost. With so much money on the line with sponsorships etc. you'd think it would be a no brainer how to act. I guess not.
