Ten years ago I would expect Woods to be right in the hunt based on those in front of him. Today though I would be wishing for him to just have another decent round pain free. To me this is what he is really doing right now. He is just seeing if he can still play enough golf to be able to put himself in the hunt with a chance to win again. Right now his skill level is good, but not good enough to win. I am looking forward to see if he can play all year with no physical problems. Then perhaps the following years he may win again and even maybe a Major. Wish in one hand and defacate in the other and see which one fills up first?
Does Tiger make the cut at the Honda this week?

Overall I thought his iron play was super and his short game did not show the rust as he did in the pat few years. And he burned the lip on a bunch of putts. Except for his boo boo on 15 today I thought he did very well.
I think TW is doing much better much faster than most thought he would. If the driver can become a weapon instead of a hindrance he's going to be a very dangerous player in the immediate future.
Nothing but positives for Tiger. Finished top-20, overall hit the ball pretty well. Still struggles controlling his driver, which has always been his bugaboo. But... seems like he's playing pain-free and able to swing without much concern, which is a big deal for him.
If he keeps up the positive trend over the next month, he'll definitely add to the interest level heading into Augusta.
Aside from that, I found it interesting that Thomas dropped a major celebratory F-bomb on the last putt in the playoff, at Jack's tournament no less. And CBS played it over and over at the end. I'm not going out on a limb here in assuming that Jack didn't appreciate that. Justin apologized, which was obviously to be expected. I am surprised however that CBS replayed it on at least three occasions.
Not that it offended me, but I think it's just indicative of how little respect a lot of these younger players have for not only the namesake of the tournament, but their own image as pro golfers. There was no need for that.
This wasn't the Phoenix Open.

I found this very surprising as well. Watching it live I though uh-oh, he (Thomas) let one slip there. But then CBS kept playing it over and over without edit? It seems that someone should've caught this and limited it to a matter of "did he say that" instead of "yup, no question he said that".

He is from my hometown and I have always been a fan but I am losing respect for him by the day. A tourney or a few back he had a major on air club throwing and stomping hissy. Very unprofessional.

..the kid is hanging around TW. What's to be expected??? He gonna be a ho too.
I might add, as a person who grew up in a hearing impaired family & am somewhat good at lipreading, most of you probably do not catch all of those words coming out of a LOT of the players mouths.....or at least they do 'mouth' them.

Then you must feel the same way about Brooke Henderson this week. Usually a sunny smile on her face, but she was slamming clubs on the ground after a poor shot and had a very dissatisfied look on her face most of the time. Never saw this behavior from her before. She ended up in the top ten this week as well

She needs a real experienced caddy that can help her geta round these new courses and read putts for her.
She misses more than her share of birdies and a birdiefest tourny like that one leaves her behind .
This is not Jack's tournament. His tournament is the Memorial. He did a re-design there about 4 years ago.
All in all, after everything is said and done, he is still better than me at golf. I can still walk into a restaurant without being recognized. So I've got that going for me......
His clubhead speed for someone in his age group (still a LOT younger than me),is off the charts.
He's pretty much keeping up or passing most of the young guns on tour, just needs to hit it a little straighter.
But his short game from say 100yds in was pretty impressive,to me that's a major sign he is slowly getting
his game back.
Take away two holes,15 and 16 he's right in the mix.
So overall,he made the cut and finished ahead of a boat load of other players on a super tough track,
I think he's has to be pleased with his performance.
Things look good going forward for Tiger! IMO
