  • Does Tiger make the cut at the Honda this week?

PA-PLAYA The MJ/LeBron comparison should clearly not be the way you stated it is. Basketball is a team sport. MJ never won a single title by himself.

PA-PLAYA no sh1t. MJ is a better player period. Bron will likely pass his stats and may equal out or come very close to MJ championships, but will never be considered GOAT by serious fans of.the game. 6-0. MJ,s run and his play and his game winners and his killer instinct will not be surpassed by Bron.

Championships should be the primary gauge but it's not the be all end all and stats and other factors are very important, case in point Terry Bradshaw v Joe Montana. Are they equals? And if not why so? What about Bill Russell? GOAT? I don't think so, a great player, but not even the best at his position.

Re Jack I think he is GOAT, but I also think Tiger is every bit the golfer Jack was. He had MJ,s killer instinct.

Par4QC What of the fact it took JN 163 starts to win those 18; TW 69 for 14 wins?

    Very compelling point.

At T9 right now and playing well. Hardly anyone going low today.

It's not quite that compelling. Tiger got his 14th win after 52 starts while Jack got his after 64 starts (both counted through the end of the calendar year of their 14th win). Still quite a higher percentage by Tiger, but not nearly the gulf that the overall records would indicate. And several of the other top major winners were contemporaries of Jack (Player - 9, Watson - 8, Palmer - 7, Trevino - 6) whereas, so far Phil leads Tiger's contemporaries with 5. At this time (current number of majors Tiger has started) in his career, Jack had just as many major wins as Tiger and Jack won 4 more after 1975, but we don't know if Tiger will ever win another.

rsvman Correct, by this logic 'Big Shot' Bob Horry is one of the all-time NBA greats.

Rickochet I am also watching Chamblee who has been a huge Tiger basher over the years rubbing his meat raw watching Tiger's play today with his new swing.

These jerking-off-watching-Tiger jokes never stop being funny. I laugh every time. It's true! I've never seen announcers salivate over even mediocre shots.

"Oh my, now he misses that putt but what a clean stroke... What a smooth... Oh... Oh mama... MAMA!!"

        Rickochet

A great putter like Tiger should be a champ at curling too, but I think it might be hard on his back.

You might need to change the thread title to will he win ?
T14 heading into play today and there isnt much in terms of star power ahead of him, except Thomas.

Ten years ago I would expect Woods to be right in the hunt based on those in front of him. Today though I would be wishing for him to just have another decent round pain free. To me this is what he is really doing right now. He is just seeing if he can still play enough golf to be able to put himself in the hunt with a chance to win again. Right now his skill level is good, but not good enough to win. I am looking forward to see if he can play all year with no physical problems. Then perhaps the following years he may win again and even maybe a Major. Wish in one hand and defacate in the other and see which one fills up first? πŸ˜ƒ

Overall I thought his iron play was super and his short game did not show the rust as he did in the pat few years. And he burned the lip on a bunch of putts. Except for his boo boo on 15 today I thought he did very well.

I think TW is doing much better much faster than most thought he would. If the driver can become a weapon instead of a hindrance he's going to be a very dangerous player in the immediate future.
