If you can't sand the stem down enough use a stepless iron shaft. (Edited: See post #6) Just start trimming it off where the PTS ends until you get the id you need. Be sure to remove the inside flare if using a tubing cutter. Use shafting beads and let it cure with the club in the upright position. Depending on the length of the PTS you might need to extend the butt end with an old steel shaft but the joint will be under the grip.

Monark golf has a True Temper shaft called inner id control at 324 inner is. That should do the trick. About 10 bucks.

Regarding the color, no reason you can't paint a steel shaft. Just rough it up good with sanding cloth and use an automotive rattle can paint.

Landon, regarding my earlier post about using a stepless Iron shaft, it could have been a longer stepless putter shaft I nibbled down to get the proper ID. The shop I bought a post head from I think sold me an Apollo 40" or 50" stepless putter shaft that I had to trim about 4" or so off of the tip then butt trim to length. It's been too long for this geezer brain to remember. 👴

          Rickochet def.....have used on steel and graphite.....looks great and would.be perfect for a blacking out a putter shaft.....it will add ~ 20 grams or so of weight

              5/8" shrink tubing, same stuff that goes over stereo wires, etc. This is what I bought, black obviously, but you can get just about any color you want, and I suspect you could get at Lowe's, etc.-

                                I am almost sure now that it was a 43" Apollo stepless putter shaft that only had about a 4" PTS.
