If you can't sand the stem down enough use a stepless iron shaft. (Edited: See post #6) Just start trimming it off where the PTS ends until you get the id you need. Be sure to remove the inside flare if using a tubing cutter. Use shafting beads and let it cure with the club in the upright position. Depending on the length of the PTS you might need to extend the butt end with an old steel shaft but the joint will be under the grip.
