I've always wanted to get a hickory set together and play some hickory tournaments. Turns out there is an active club near me in FL. I'm going in cheap to see if I like it. I bought and built some tools and supplies to refinish, whip and regrip the sticks. Here are my irons that just got sanded and oiled. I am waiting for waxed thread, tacks, grip strips and Tru Oil to finish these up for play. I have a mid iron, mashie, mashie niblick, a niblick, and a putter. I just need a play club to tee off with and maybe a fairway wood (spoon, brassie or baffy). I built a whipping stand for gripping and whipping grip ends and hosel joints. I need to add a pin that holds the spool of thread.
This is going to be a blast! I have owned a played one of my mashies for a while and it's pretty easy to hit.
