New Music thread...
Bill Nelson and the Gentlemen Rockers..........Soon to be playing at a local Pub near you......and that's about it.
Oh Steve, Steve, Steve, you just listened to one of the best guitar players on the planet.
Granted he is not a Joe Bonnamassa (yawn) nor a Jonny Lang ;-)
He has a catalog of songs and licks they can only dream of.
Guess that I am gonna have to go to my local Starbucks to hear this guy ?
If Bill Nelson is one of the best players on the Planet it must be Pluto or Mars. Absolutely NO Soul in his playing at all!!!

Steve, I love you, so passionate.
Regardless I know that both of us share the same roots/timeline/connections..
Thx for putting a smile on my face.

Glad you like them!

Pikes, reading thru this whole thread you referenced - Screaming Cheatah Wheelie.
"Hello From Venus" - great, imo, song.
Kind of a one hit like the Georgia Satellites

A little wet at Old Settlers this weekend. Missed a few good acts, but did discover some "new" groups.
Green River Ordinance (from Ft. Worth).
And these guys: Dustbowl Revival
(can Dick van Dyke still do that at 89?)
If you ever see that Shinyribs is playing nearby, don't miss:
mainuh If I recall correctly DVD is an accomplished Banjo player,
much like Steve Martin who sat in with the N/G Dirt Band.
BTW - "Will The Circle Be Unbroken " (triple album) encompasses everything you need for your Bluegrass library.
I'll have to check that out, but moves pretty well for his age.
Steve Martin and Steep Canyon Rangers and Steve Martin and Edie Brickell are hard to beat.
By the way Steve now gives a $50,000 prize each year for banjo. This year's award went to Danny Barnes who used to live in Austin and played with the Bad Livers. Now he's in Oregon or Washington.
Saw Edie at a local benefit for Sandy Hook when we lived in CT,
"Bringing out a special friend..." Paul Simon
"Sounds of Silence"

There actually is (or was) an original "Donut Taco Palace" that inspired the song.

I've posted about Prince, Kantner. and introduced / defended some of my pleasures.
In 65 years I have a "catholic" appreciation of many styles.
This album "Will The Circle Be Unbroken" found its way onto my turntable as often as "Countdown To Ecstasy",
"Who's Next", "Future Games".
Doc Watson (who I was lucky enough to see)..."Tennessee Stud" of the aforementioned album -
Earl Scruggs, who reinvented the banjo - for the uninitiated you'll probably know - The Ballad of Jed Clampett... ;-)

Gonna resurrect this thread... some of these may not be "new" but always fun to share the stuff I'm listening to.
Let's start with some Tim Timebomb, former lead singer of Rancid. I'm liking this project he's done:

Next up is a band that's no longer playing. Doesn't make what they did any less excellent:
[
Lastly... probably my most favorite artist right now. Reverend Peyton. Dude is ultra talented. This is a solo effort but I'll post some of his stuff with "The Big Damn Band" as well:

As promised, Reverend Peyton and The Big Damn Band:

This last one is from a live session during Covid in their living room:
