What to watch on Netflix

Just finished Longmire, looking for another series to watch. Have watched Dexter, Lost (twice), Breaking Bad, and a couple others..........

sdandrea1 I didn't watch BB for a long time after it was popular. It turned out to be one of the best series I have seen with a finale that was REALLY well done. The more I thought about it, the more I appreciated it. But I think I liked Better Call Saul, a spinoff of BB, even better. They're different beasts. For me, Ozark is another series not to miss.

XIII was an entertaining ride. I'd forgotten I'd seen it, and it's still on Netflix.

Anybody ever watch Hemlock Grove? It's a bit of a mystery/horror series from a couple years back. It got good reviews. I'm about 4 episodes in and kinda meh about it. Wondering if I should continue?

garyt1957 I watched Season 1 and thought it was pretty good. I still haven't watched most of Season 2, but the show was entertaining as far as I watched it.

Watched the first 3 episodes of Altered Carbon. Weird.

azgreg it's def different, but I like the sci-fi aspect of it, the characters are pretty good, not great.....wander if f there will be a s2?

ode we binged watched in 2 days. I thought it was good for the most part. Didn't care for one of the twists and didn't like how season 1 ended. The unique thing with the premise of this show, you can replace any of the actors while still keeping the same characters.

Only reason I still maintain a subscription is because my kids enjoy it.

Otherwise I'd dump it in a heartbeat. Outside of "Ozarks" (which I thought was really really good) - I've not watched much on Netflix over the past year that has warranted the monthly fee.

Not to mention how bad our internet connection/streaming time is.

People don't seem to get this, but if everybody goes to streaming and cuts cable - our monthly internet subscriptions are only going to get more and more expensive. More people using the service, during peak times... requiring more download time.

Already dealing with it and I'm not a fan.

Tinker I dumped it quite a while back for this very reason. The movie selection is really bad, but there are a lot of series that are worth a look. In the end, I couldn't justify the cost, as small as it is. I just didn't think I was getting anything on NF that I couldn't basically get somewhere else.

If you have a smart TV (I don't, so I am thinking about getting a Roku), you can stream a lot of really good stuff off the net if you have a good data plan. Our library has an online movie streaming service where you can "check out" movies to watch (4 a month, I think). There are some great movies on there, including classics and foreign films.

there will be no cable tv in 10 years if not before, it's already an outdated technology. Just like home phones, most no longer have them.
Most companies are offering services in which phone, tv etc etc is all done wireless.
home security, thermostats , house doors and locks and even cooking appliances are now controlled wireless from outside the home. I have been somewhat slow to adopt to this but have controlled my Anova Sous Vide from the hockey rink and will be putting in a wireless controlled thermostat.

Kids and Millennials don't watch tv the way us boomers did/do. My kids rarely even watch tv, they watch their phone, Ipad or laptop . Live tv ? what's that they say. Thats what a PVR is for or just watch a show later whenever you want on your phone. Olympics? all streamed via the app to the phone or ipad.

I like using my 60 inch tv over the ipad but rarely ever watch live tv any more outside of sports.

Which ultimately means that your wireless subscription fees are only going to increase, over time, based on demand. And, that we're essentially going to be bound by the downloading times during "peak" traffic, based on the performance levels of internet services we have.

So whatever money we save is going to be marginalized by how long it takes us to watch an hour-long program on streaming, whether it's Netlix or whatever.

I'm just finishing season 2 of Stranger Things. I actually think I like it slightly better than season 1, but I have two episodes left to watch.

I thought season one was better just because it was new and season two is a little derivative. Still really enjoyed it. Also thought the kids matured a lot over the two seasons. They may look to old for another year.

We enjoyed both seasons but definitely felt season 1 was better. It just seemed more of a cohesive storyline wheras season 2 was all over the place. My son called season 2 "Stranger , Stranger Things" and i agree with him. Plus it seemed too much like season one with less of the story told. Nonethless, we like the plot and the characters so looking forward to Season 3.

I just watched the first two episodes of The Mist based on the Stephen King novel. So far I like it. Settling in now to watch a couple more.
