From the Ohio criminal code:
"Ohio assault laws include the offenses of both “assault” and “battery.” Causing or attempting to cause harm to another person or to an unborn child is an assault in Ohio. To commit "battery" is to intentionally or negligently cause offensive physical contact or bodily harm. The crime of assault is broken down into two separate degrees: "simple" and "aggravated." Simple and negligent assault are misdemeanor crimes. Aggravated assault is a felony depending upon who is the victim."
"To commit battery is to intentionally or negligently cause offensive physical contact."
This is an offense. You can be charged.
Assault laws INCLUDE the offences of both "assault and battery"
Tell me I am wrong???
LBlack14 not asking u to agree, just give it some thought. Boys who get abused suffer, that's one aspect; the other is an adult female abusing children. That needs to stop. Sentences for these kinds of things tend to be weak to begin with....there are a myriad of reasons for that, one shouldn't be that of a double standard.

When I was in 6th grade, MISS Dennis was HOT! (looking back on it). When she favored me for "teacher specials" like cleaning erasers and such and gave me pats on the ass, I should've be apaulled(sp?)? I was flattered and dreamed of that woman.
Generally battery only applies if the offended person opts to press charges. Officials aren't generally authorized to assign offense to the act since they aren't capable of determining independently if there was consent or not. If an officer witnesses a man kissing a woman, even if she looks repulsed by the act, he cannot simply charge the man with battery without the woman declaring a desire to prosecute. It isn't a crime unless she says it is.
Lee, I tell, even my best friends "fuck you", just so you know you're not special. Boys being boys, ya know.
candukid Nothing like a healthy discussion though. Interesting to see the complete polarization here. There is no middle ground. Black/White...Up/Down...In/Out
I started the thread. So, I guess like PaPlaya I could ask Justin to lock it down but, it's too interesting! I don't believe the discussion is healthy but, it sure is illuminating!
Lastly, I resent your insinuation that I tend toward that all/nothing thinking. I don't believe I do. I'll differ, strongly even with some opinions here but, I read some replies - that initially don't make any sense and then, over time I can at least grasp some individuals' rationale for such. Scary though, some of those perspectives. LOL That's what I've come to comprehend.
Ack8236 Yeah, he did a doozy with that one. Some people just don't understand.
I'd like to thank all who participated with meaningful contributions and participation related to communicating effectively with one another.
