I'm not a real ball snob, but there are several brands that I usually just leave sitting where I find them. Pinnacle has always been one of them. Now you have me thinking. I might have to give one of these a go since it doesn't sound like much of an investment.

Speaking of "fringe" balls that seem to perform, I hit a yellow Volvik I found the other day (although these balls are getting to be increasingly less "fringish"). I really liked the way it performed. But the ball that has always been crazy long for me is the Nitro. I have always wondered if they are even legal since I consistently hit them longer than other balls.

(Admittedly, I've only hit a few of them that I have found. Haven't hit one in years.)

It's so funny with balls. I have hit the Nitro's and find them shorter than most. I do agree on the Volvik's though. They seem a little longer for me. I really don't see much noticeable difference between balls, distance wise. I even tried the MG Senior balls whch are non conforming and supposed to be long. Not for me. I get more out of a Titleist Velocity.

garyt1957 Are Titleist Velocities the ones with the orange number? I haven't hit many of those, but love them when I do find them.

Ha! With my pant size I can barely call myself a full grown man...29" waist.πŸ˜€

My iron swing speed is really nothing special. 6 iron I believe is 92, but I'll check. Driver is different...

I'm hitting driver like garbage right now but I think the gains are only irons it seems. Guy in our group with a slower ss just tried one the last 2 times and he's hitting it further. Second shot on one of the holes he was 10-15 yards past where he was looking.

          Typhoon😱 back later...........heading to Wallyworld...........🏎

btw.....everyone in 'your group' has a slower ss. duh!

Typhoon maybe you are getting a tick more compression with them off the irons and gaining distance. I find that a ball that’s too soft gives me less distance ( perhaps just more spin) off the tee than a ball hats better matched for my swing speed.

Typhoon I’d buy that SS at a 6 iron based on your driver distance. At one point I could get to the low 100’s with the 6 iron... absolutely no control, but I could haha. I’m in the mid 90’s on a regular swing. One can let rip a bit more with a driver than iron for sure.

I'm thinking my 6i speed is probably slower than my cue speed when playing pool. 😭
