Hmm, might have to try them out, getting low on stock and have one more round in me this year. Not time for anything drastic, maybe these are the ticket.

Anyone tried the Pinnacle Soft?

Yeah, it performs like a pinnacle gold but feels like you're hitting a marshmallow

The Pinnacle Rush is a good ball. I have played them quite a bit. The Soft is not bad either and you can definitely tell it is appropriately named.

For anybody interested, Walmart had the white Pinnacle Rush on sale for $3 a dozen! Only one dozen left at my store. They had the yellow still for $15.47. Guess what color I bought?

Found a Pinnacle soft like new and played a few shots on a round I was playing by myself last week. I was impressed, ball played well and driver distance was fine. Usually play Wilson Zip and it felt similar. I like cotton ball soft of the putter.

I did. I'm about a 220 almost always in play kind of driver these days. About 90-92 mph. They seamed as long as any.

Didn't try the driver yet, I'll try it next week. For some reason when we get past September the distance goes down a bit with the weather. What I'll do is hit it up against the pro-v.

I think I might have hit one earlier in the year because I can remember being too far.

I have lost about 7 or 8 mph . Getting older and the way I play now. Controlled swing keeping my head behind the ball and concentrating on square contact. I now can get through a year with a dozen and a half balls so I have more in my bag than I can use. Just about every brand you can name. For me the pro v is the shortest of the driver. I have not much concern with iron distance I just take an extra iron when in doubt. I don't worry about backspin, if your good enough to hit it six yards past the pin and spin it back you should be good enough to hit it six feet short and roll it up. I like good crisp distance off the tee and a soft feel putting. I used a ball called the fuzz for a while and loved it. I switched to Wilson zip and it does what I look for. I could play the Pinnacle sifts and have no problem. Also like Top Flit hammer.

Not in the western suburbs of Chicago. Regular price regardless of color.
Instead of $3/doz. balls, I ended up buying clearance pastries.... 😞 😄

I was in Wallyworld earlier this week and was looking at the balls, and these balls. Comparing prices vs. box quantity, etc.. Then I started mentally comparing my swingspeed vs. John's.
Bought a new pair of pants instead, and left. Figure I probably bought about the same size pants that John may wear, so I'm happy with that. I wouldn't come close to hitting the ball as far as he does.

I try to find a pair of 38's that where mixed in the 36 section. Good for my ego.

Yea, I went to another Walmart in my area and although they had no white ones left, the sign still said $15.47. They still had one box of yellow.

For what it's worth I got a chance to play the P. Rush yesterday and for me, I'd say they're worth the $3.00 I paid. Nothing out of the ordinary for me. I probably don't have the SS like Typhoon to get the increase. I gave a couple sleeves to a buddy and the rest will be practice balls.
What was interesting, I found an Ultra 500, a ball I normally would never consider playing and it was consistently 15 yards longer for me off the tee, and a couple 20 yards.
Played a Volvik Vivid, too and that one was good for driver distance too, but not near the Ultra. The Ultra was the only ball I've ever played that I really didn't like in the past. May have to give it a shot.

I'm dying to order a dozen Penfold Red Hearts so I can play Bond's ball. Probably end up costing thirty bucks with shipping.

I'm not a real ball snob, but there are several brands that I usually just leave sitting where I find them. Pinnacle has always been one of them. Now you have me thinking. I might have to give one of these a go since it doesn't sound like much of an investment.

Speaking of "fringe" balls that seem to perform, I hit a yellow Volvik I found the other day (although these balls are getting to be increasingly less "fringish"). I really liked the way it performed. But the ball that has always been crazy long for me is the Nitro. I have always wondered if they are even legal since I consistently hit them longer than other balls.

(Admittedly, I've only hit a few of them that I have found. Haven't hit one in years.)

It's so funny with balls. I have hit the Nitro's and find them shorter than most. I do agree on the Volvik's though. They seem a little longer for me. I really don't see much noticeable difference between balls, distance wise. I even tried the MG Senior balls whch are non conforming and supposed to be long. Not for me. I get more out of a Titleist Velocity.

garyt1957 Are Titleist Velocities the ones with the orange number? I haven't hit many of those, but love them when I do find them.
