I am truly sorry about you're learning about your friends tragedy.
However, I didn't start this thread to stir shit. The original post was legitimate and if you were to look at my first response to your first reply, you'll see that I agreed. That it is my responsibility to check if aerated greens are annoying.

Of course they're f-ing annoying. Everyone agrees. Including myself. And yeah - it'd be nice if every course had the policy to inform the public ahead of time. But we know it's hardly ever been that way and will never be that way across the board. So why complain/argue about it if you've experienced this over the past 20 years?
The gist of your post however wasn't about "checking to see if aerated greens are annoying" but rather to complain about the course not making you aware, and once you get there and realize that the greens aren't pristine - should you be entitled a discount?

A guy who's worked in the industry, besides myself, who tried to offer some perspective on the issue asked you a few honest and valid questions. Your reply insinuated that he was a "Dick." Mostly because you didn't feel the need to answer his questions, especially when his opinion was contrary to yours.
Which is fine. It's your prerogative. You're at liberty to not answer questions and call whomever you want "a dick."
It just devalues your character, that you refuse to look at both sides of the issue, and then when asked to step up to the plate to provide some sort of answer - your retort is petty name calling.
This is shit teenagers do when they're not getting enough attention or aren't happy and make it known via social media.
What can we do to help you not be bitter? What can we do to make you happy? Would you like for us to contact the courses you play a few days in advance to make sure the greens are okay?

I worked at a golf course for 2 years and learned a little bit about aeration. There’s a couple different types of aeration that we did and I know if. There’s the core type aeration and the deep tine aeration.
The superintendent where I worked at was really a stickler about the top dressing afterwards. He always made the holes were all filled and broomed in. Then after that we would always use the tee mower after to give them a quick cut.
When my course does either type (shallow or deep punch), they put a thin even coating of sand on top. To be honest putting on the sand is fine for a few rounds before the greens heal. We have paspalum greens and they aren't as grainy as Bermuda, so the sand topping has about the same speed as the grass.
Who says I want something for nothing? If there was one or two courses local, then maybe I'd feel some obligation. I play 50 rounds per year, I am fortunate to have 100+ public courses within an hour. If course A is undergoing maintenance, I go to B - then B gets money for their next maintenance. If B is undergoing maintenance, I go to A - and A gets money for their next maintenance.
