OK, got 36 holes in today with the Prophet MBs. The second round had a two club wind, so it made the distance judgement a little tougher. The distance on the longer irons is true though. The 5i that I was hitting 190-193 on the launch monitor was going 185 easy on the course. The 4i was getting 200+ (my regular 4i is 180). No distance gains on the short irons.
I did hit a couple high on the face in the 2nd round that resulted in a good 15-20 yards loss of distance. The line remained straight, just short. I did not get any amazingly long single shots. The PMBs seem to be very consistent for a good strike. I didn't notice any bad distance loss heel-toe, just high (very high) on the face. I didn't have usual success with the PW and GW, it will take me a while to get comfortable with them.
Sound and feel - not quite as extreme as the Wishon 870ti irons. But yeah, these feel nothing like the 575mmc. But with graphite shafts in the PMBs, it was fine.
While it is nice to hit a 4i 200 instead of 180, that means I now have 1 less club covering the 95-200 yard range. Is that extra club something I could use elsewhere? Perhaps, but perhaps not. I'll keep trying out the PMBs, but the WIshons aren't going anywhere.
Oh, and that slightly convex 6 iron was probably the best one I had today. Man I was killing that one.
And if I wasn't wearing a glove, there would have been clubs all over the course.
