So, about that unicorn that stepped on and killed your duck...

He might not have been drinking. I do find it interesting that yesterday sources were quoting law enforcement that they smelled alcohol on his breath, that he was observed driving recklessly and now after many hours with Tigers lawyers being involved those stories have been changed to no alcohol and he was found passed out in his car with the motor running.

Like with the episode back in 2009, there is the story that was told to the public and and what others say really happened, there is no doubt that this one too has been handled and cleaned up to some degree. Like before likely won't get to know the whole truth. Many said he was drunk lastbtime he crashed as well , but then it was changed to being on a drug as well IIRC., ambien.

Nonetheless, Tiger last had surgery several weeks ago and would be on his meds a while so unless he was prescribed some new concoction of meds that day, his story is not entirely believeable, but then again Tiger has a history of not telling the truth. Perhaps he got into some thing else , coke, pot, who knows. It fucked him up bad enough that he passed out at the wheel and had no idea where he was or where he had come from . California. ???? Lol. Where was Mr Woods going at 2 am in such a doped up state, with his girlfriend out of town ? Hmmm, probably not going to get to find that out from him either, but who knows who might be out there and shed some light on the truth .

As others have said, driving either while drunk, stoned or heavily medicated is the same , he was impaired and wreckless and is very lucky, we could be talking about his death instead of just another in a myriad of embarrassing moments in the tragic fall of Tiger Woods. Destined to be the next John Daly, if he isn't already....albeit JD is a much more likeable guy to me.

Weirfan how else would they prove DUI if he blew a 0.0 on a pbt?
      Re: DUI's.....of course its
dangerous, but in many states first offense DUI isn't even criminal, it's a citation....to me if you do it again, then have some meaningful consequences. Those that have DUI'S and do hurt someone will be punished accordingly.

Re: the Cornell analogy....I see your point, Cornell reached me and meant something to me, so when his life ended it hurt. When TW gets an OWI, I don't care, as I know he's not likely to do it again. Now if TW committed suicide, it would be a different story, that would be sad, just like when Cornell died.

Other then suggesting it's time for a haircut, I see no reason to pile the sh1t on.

The problem with trusting information coming from figures who have a pronounced history of not being truthful and forthcoming is that the information coming from those people with a pronounced history of not being truthful and forthcoming can't be trusted.

Nevertheless, some people refuse to connect the dots, refuse to consider history, and still do offer unconditional trust.

That same concept plays a role in why a lot of battered women don't leave abusive relationships.

But ode... some of us aren't piling on. Some of us actually appreciate/respect what he's meant to the sport as it relates to being a historical figure, despite however big of an ass some of us think he's been most of his career... nobody truly wants to see him become a tragic figure. Expressing concern and pointing out serious red flags, in lots of 1st-world cultures anyway, is the opposite of piling on.

And if those red flags involve not-so-glowing characterizations of who he is or what he's become - then so be it.

No one in their right mind who looked at that mugshot and read the police report can conclude that there's not a reason for concern.

        • ode replied to this.

          "Care and concern", Schadenfreude, whatev.

"Whatev" is exactly my sentiments in response. (blowing you a kiss emoji)

You all don't have a clue what he's going through or what's going through his mind. I fear/feel for the guy. He's lost and alone. Hard to talk about.

I suppose he could be charged with a drinking DUI without blowing if caught drinking out of a bottle and driving, passed out with a bottle of booze in his lap, witnesses that say ge was drinking.

He was in fact charged with DUI, the I ithis case being drugs , which he admitted to.

Up here DUI is treated and punished very seriously. At .08 , automatic 1 year suspended liscence , heavy fine $1-5 k, breathalizer device installed , plus you have a criminal record so in some cases people Lose jobs or are prevented from getting into careers. Plus good luck finding car insurance for under 5-7 grand a year. Even if one blows under .08 there are fines, temporary suspensions and high insurance. Sad to hear you say it's not taken seriously in places down there.

As for piling on, more like watching a dumpster fire, there is a continual flow of attention grabbing stories around a person that many of us find polarizing and unlikeable as a person.

I agree with LB that it's gotten to a point where pity is the main reason for discussing, I do feel sorry for him, to be in such a state he must be having a tough, tough time. List his family, tarnished reputation, and not able to do the one thing ( outside sex) that he loved and lived for. He's most certainly a broken man . It can happen to anyone

LBlack14 Agree, to a point. Don't think he is 'lost & alone' as he has always been alone; very few close friends. He certainly does have a drug problem now, and it's understandable after all the years of problems with his back, knee, etc.. Just wonder how many Vicodins(admitted to police he was on it) he took......and why? He says the pain was gone as soon as the surgery was performed. I'd bet within a couple days we'll read a report of his admittance to rehab, hopefully.

He hasn't called yet so no idea what really happened.😉

Who might that be? Never seen, read, nor heard of any g/f since Vonn.

You got some funkyass sources up in that country, I must say.

Our media coverage of this is next to zero and if something not more than a headline .

"Tiger Woods' 2015 Mercedes-Benz showed signs of "fresh damage" on the driver's side of the vehicle when he was found asleep at the wheel the morning of his arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence, police records show.

New documents released late Tuesday afternoon by Jupiter, Florida, police reveal that both tire rims on the driver's side of the Mercedes had minor damage and the front and rear tires on that side of the vehicle were flat.
Police also observed damage to the bumper on the driver's side, white scrapes and scuffs on the rear bumper, and the passenger side rear taillight was not working, according to the documents."

He's lucky that he didn't kill himself or someone else.

He's lucky that he didn't kill himself or someone else.

Exactly. More than that I do not know.

For those of you trusting your media sources, best of luck. He said/she said is called hearsay in court and gossip on the street.

                    Enjoy...

It is sad to see such an illustrious career be in its current condition. But, I think it may be a long time till a 'star' of his magnitude shows up and dominates like he did.
One last thing, I struggle to see the equity here when the likes of Dustin Johnson, with the Gretzky empire behind him did not get put through the grinder those envious of Woods have administered. Yes, Tiger's been no Jack. Who has?!

                      Weirfan

In the US, DUI is taken seriously but the precise treatment does vary by jurisdiction. Also, it's up to specific employers rather than the government to decide consequences for employment or careers. I have known two people who had one DUI, learned their lesson, and never had any more offenses after many years. It would have been a shame if they had been black listed in their careers, etc.

Fines, temporary suspensions, and raised insurance for BAL under .08 sounds like a nice racket. I have never heard of a drunk driving case resulting in serious injury or death, where the intoxicated person wasn't double or even triple the legal limit. Yet I have even heard rumblings where I live of lowering the legal limit to .05. There seems to be building sentiment to go after the couple who just had two glasses of wine with their Italian dinner, but I'm not sure how credible the threat is.

professor For those of you trusting your media sources, best of luck. He said/she said is called hearsay in court and gossip on the street.

C'mon now......the majority of all this reporting is coming from TMZ! Who can be trusted if they can't?😉
They only report through the internet, and you know what they say about the internet.

They just lowered the legal limit here in Utah to .05...glad I quit drinking a long time ago.
