I doubt the videos were released to further humiliate Tiger, but to comply with Florida statutes ( although I don't know if that 100%) . I suppose one could say, don't want to be humiliated, don't do something stupid. The videos do invoke feelings of sympathy towards Tiger, they are outright sad to watch.

Reading through this thread makes me remember how polarizing Tiger always was on the FGI forum. Before 2009, it seemed people were judged as either a "fanboy" or a "hater." Nothing in between. I always thought those on either extreme were a little crazy. Tiger's fist pumps and celebrations were an affront to the game of golf? You're a "hater" (maybe based on racism) if you root for underdogs to beat him or don't like his expletive laden mini tantrums on the course?
Having said that, I think this thread has overall represented much more reasoned discussion than we saw in the past, even if professor remains quite sensitive to criticism of or speculation about Tiger's life after this recent event, and weirfan's approach seems reminiscent of those who obsess with high profile murder mysteries.

I think this statement sums it up for all, even Jack & Charles. Probably even for his own Mother!!
On the surface, it appears he does have a 'medication' dependency; I think there is enough circumstantial evidence of that.
MidwayJ - Guitar Player (or whatever his name was) on FGI was Tiger's biggest fanboy on that site and would post some outlandish comments trolling for reaction.

This has been a fairly spirited and mostly civil discussion....much unlike what we were more
accustomed too on the old FGI site,where things pertaining to Tiger Woods could get off track and get real
ugly real quick.....I blame 'some' of the old mods for that! 
Sure it's an unfortunate circumstance that brought this whole topic to light,but it's being discussed
on just about every news/sports/golf outlet there is,often times by people who probably don't know a wedge
from a driver.....so why not talk about it here?
TW is still probably the most recognized athlete in the world,even though he hasn't competed in quite sometime.
He's always been pretty aloof about his private life,so when we see first hand/up close and personal a glimpse into a bit of reality when it pertains to Tiger,some of us go "Holy shit,that's Tiger F'n Woods" in that dash cam!
"Say it ain't so",but unfortunately it was....The greatest golfer of my generation appears to be in a major downward spiral to nowhere!
But maybe he comes out the other end of this mess,a better person who finally comes clean about who he
really is,(not that he owes us that much) and gets his life back together,gets healthy and who knows maybe even
starts to compete again successfully..
Look at John Daly,who didn't count him out when he stood there shivering up in Canada going through withdrawals due mainly to too much booze.
The thing about Daly,he didn't try to hide his problems,the guys a friggin walking/talking open book.
Maybe THAT'S the person Tiger needs to talk too,someone who's been down that rocky road and somehow
beat the inner demons down..... and survived the media,sponsors exit,fan heckling etc
JD looks like he's enjoying a good life now on the Senior Circuit,I expect him to win soon if he can get
some putts to drop.

Whoa, somebody is losing their reading/interpretation skills... I do not think Charles has more insider knowledge about pro golf.
I do believe he has far more insight about TW than Jack - lots more!

I think a lot of this speculative back and forth is because Tiger is so secretive. If this were Phil we'd know a lot more because Phil has been so accessible with the media. Tiger is experiencing the flip side of this media scrutiny because he's been so guarded over the years and given the public (basically) nothing over the years as to any insight into his life.
BTW, this secretive stuff all started when Tiger first came up and he was being interviewed by sports writer Charles Pierce (now with Esquire). Tiger told an off color joke which he assumed Pierce would not include in his article. However, Pierce included it in the article and Tiger never forgot that and became the say nothing Tiger we've come to know.
You could say the chickens have come home to roost for Tiger. He's built up zero relationships with the media and because of this he remains the enigma we've come to know and love.

Prof - Perhaps, you don't realize that TW talked with Jack Nicklaus about his back issues and pain in recent years. In 2012 JN encouraged TW to bring his trainer and consult with a therapist JN uses. At first TW did not respond, but later when TW was in so much pain he had difficulty even walking TW contacted JN and accepted the offer. TW & TW personal trainer and JN therapist spent a day together. Public comments made by JN were very positive regarding the meeting and resultant relationship. Whether fact or speculation some have stated within the golf community that when their paths cross, TW has discussed his recent surgeries, pain, therapy, etc. with JN.
JN comments have always been limited, but positive in regard to TW returning to competitive golf. This was in spite of 3 back surgeries, the first being in April 2014. That is until TW 4th back surgery in April 2017 fusing together the L5 and S1 vertebrae. After this and prior to this recent incident JN expressed some doubt about the possible return of TW to competitive golf.

Hey, that's great. But, it doesn't mean diddly squat to me regarding who Tiger would present his true self to more readily - Charles or Jack Nicklaus. Me thinks he maintains more his public personal with Jack (even if it's just in deference to his age/status) than he would with Barkley. Again, sometimes I guess I just communicate sufficiently...

Interesting you make such a claim, especially considering that Barkley admitted back in 2015 that he was disappointed to "lose his friendship" with Tiger after not having talked to him since the scandal back in 2009.

So, I'll stand by my initial thoughts that perhaps Nicklaus, or maybe Tiger's "big brother" Notah Begay (who has maintained a constant confidante-type relationship with Woods over the years) has much more access to sources than does Charles Barkley. And if these two guys are inferring that there's an issue that requires help, then I'll take their word over a guy who expressed just two years ago that "Tiger isn't very sociable" and "we're not friends anymore."
My bet...combo of opioid and sleep agent, like ambion. I'm thinking he popped a few of each, went to bed, then sorta woke up but not exactly. That he "sleep drove"....which is sleep walking but in his car.

That's just not the case here though, if you've read through all the posts.
This is about some POS, cheatin(on and off the course),sumbich all hopped up on dope to relieve pain. The dope isn't working so he drives around late nights looking for wheelchair victims to smash up(witness the cracked rims/flat tires). These types, with the insufferable pains, can only get their relief through the euphoric state these smashes leave them in. Their pain relief is so overwhelming, they pass out immediately.(the reason he was caught)
Wonder if they even thought to check the underside of his vehicle for the remains of said victims??
