Weirfan Similar to what we have in the US. HiPAA is perhaps even stouter/more restrictive, etc.
As an example, as a physician working at a hospital with an electronic medical record system, I am not allowed to look at my own son's labs. If I go into the computer system and then searched his name and opened up his records, I could be fired.
Now my son is an adult. I asked if I could look at his labs if I had his permission, in writing, and was told that it was not permissible. HE can show me his labs. Or he can request that his PHYSICIAN forward me his labs, but I cannot look up his labs.
