sdandrea1 Understand your point but I don't agree. More semantics, yes Medicaid was changed. Able body have to work plus no more for non-citizens. I think of this as a correction but yes a change. People did not always use the caveat. In my view, Medicaid is safer now vice been abused.
Medicaid was viewed to help those in the poverty category, fairly steady at 12% over the las few years, Medicaid has increased to approx 24%. Not supposed to be this high. ACA did not help as costly. New Mexico is one, if not highest, % on Medicaid. This place is handout state. Plus, small taxable income with most land owned by the govt and the many reservations not [paying state tax. Exceedingly strong liberal govt which has driven many away, especially Drs with the malpractice changes.
Previous Admin made it worse. They added to the rolls of Medicaid. My youngest qualifies for Medicaid as a disabled person unable to work and sadly the hosp/Dr offices (he requires a lot) seem overly happy to charge for things we don't think he needs and we typically refuse. We do not use Medicaid for him, seems wrong since we are doing well.
