Yes pretty much,you can always let your lead foot turn a bit like Sheffler does.
The driver is still a work in progress, but with irons I find it so much easier to keep
the shoulders closed and have a more inside club path to be able to hit the back inside part of the ball.

I just don't notice a ton of difference on most balls. I play the ball low on every chip possible so I don't want my ball to check. I hit full shots really high so I get stopping power that way unless the greens are hard as hell.
I "seem" to get more distance with harder balls. Current balls in my rotation Prov1 , ProV1x, TP5X, Vice Pro, Vice Drive, Titleist Velocity , Tit. NXT, Tit. Tour Response. Vastly different balls and I like them all.

Wilson Boost $10 per dozen...best ball for the value but you need to check your ego at the door which most golfers refuse to do. Also, they are only available at WalMart...lose 1 and there goes 85cents, helps speed up play rather then look for a $5 ProV ball. Other balls to try are Seed and Legato. The ProV ball guys should try either of the PXG balls, about $20 cheaper per dozen. I know 4 guys who have made the switch from the ProV to PXG and have not looked back.

Try E9. It's in the 75 compression range, but feels pretty good off everything. It holds greens better than it should. Maple golf has orange balls for under $15.

[deleted] I have some of those. 1st time I hit one I did the ol' WTF? was that. Must have caught it perfectly as it was the longest hit I'd had in years, center cut also. They are long, carry may be longest I've seen, go straight, but for me they feel just a bit firmer than others I have of same (supposed) compressions. I do still play them occasionally.

Par4QC Yes they are not bad. Definitely doesn't feel like a rock. I was expecting more run out. Maybe a bit firmer than E6 balls. Feels like a damn golf ball I guess!

Speaking of golf balls, when we played the other day, we got on #18 green and I noticed a tent set up back on the first tee with Bridgestone banners and a sign about ball fitting. Usually, I'd make a beeline over there with hopes of scrounging some free balls, but at that point I was so hot and tired, all I could think of was the AC and a cold one in the clubhouse!

scotts33 Soft Feel, Callaway SuperSoft and the best cheap ball the Wilson Boost.

Have never played the Boost but hopefully will find one and try. IMO the Super Soft feels much different then the soft feel, noticable to me. Save a few of them for late fall rounds when it's in the 30s otherwise they go to one of my buddies who plays all found balls. I don't care for the feel and occasionally get a super flyer from the fairway or first cut with irons. Ball flies further than normal and no stopping it. I equate this to modern forgiveness (i..e slight mishit) of clubs combined with lower spin./(?) Performs OK everywhere else. Not that this phenomenon doesn't happen with other soft balls but not to the extent that it does with the super soft.

Club Special....wow! When I was a kid just taking up the game (late 1950's), the little 9 hole muni where I played all my golf sold those for .50 or .60 cents apiece NEW!!

braveheart Backswing is way more important, imo. Once the ball is actually hit, whatever you do after that doesn't matter.

The Wilson 50 is still the best 2 piece ball I have ever used. Many others must feel the same as its been around for so long.

bad9 Check out Maple Hill for some good pricing on those.
I have some. I think they are a very good all around 2 pc....better around the green than many.

To add when you use persimmon woods as I do the lower compression balls seem to perform much better than higher compression balls for my stats. Though balata balls were not low compression their liquid filled center gave them spin rates and "feel" of a lower compression 2 piece Surlyn cover.

I can also understand why the hands of stone guys can't discern the difference. The sound/feel discussion is valid here.

I noticed thru this thread not many really know their driver or mid-iron SS or release. With the equipment freaks on this site I find that odd. But then again many don't read the posts.

I've never known mine, even when I could do the 'Daly' swing. But I seldom hit center face with that swing, and now I seldom miss. So, in my mind, I'm maxing out whatever SS I do possess. Could I increase that...yes. But I'm not going through all that for maybe less accuracy and just a couple yards.

Yes it does and BTW no one has stated their age in this thread besides me and some that have are not in the senior realm so I doubt they look at 2 piece balls unless they are thrifty. Why is because in general all of the posts on this site are all anecdotal but to get some decent everyday performance you gotta know what bring ya to replicate that performance. A cheap Swing Speed Radar will tell ya what you need to know and no one talks about release except me which is one of the huge fitting perspectives. Release can be seen on your cell phone camera/video,. I don't get it spend all that money on equipment trade this, move that, next club next week yadda yadda and so forth but don't know what you really are as a golfer. No wonder the golf industry loves the recreational golfer and these internet sites. Golf is a big trading equipment usiness. 2nd Swing, Cally Pre-Owned, eBay, Amazon etc etc. I know I can buy a game. ☺

For those that want to be an ostrich that's fine too.
