azgreg azgreg Had my first post 60 physical. I'm now on Tamsulosin for my prostate and Lisinopril for my blood pressure along with a blood pressure machine for dailey testing.

And now I'm also on Atorvastatin.

A little update. When I first tested my bp was 181/84. Today it is 104/62.
I believe I started to have a reaction to the statin. My face started feeling like it had a massive razor burn going on and I was feeling like I just couldn't get comfortable no matter what. I stopped taking it and am seeing the doctor tomorrow.

My brother can't tolerate stations. Bad joint pain. My body doesn't seem to care. Good luck, Greg 🙏😀

        Bravopilot

I take CoQ10 as well. My brother is inherently against taking anything. I think he might try Repatha if his doc approves. Thanks, tho!

azgreg my wife couldn't take them. Wound up in the ER at one point.

I haven't taken the statins all week and I'm feeling better and my bp keeps dropping. I'm going to lobby the doctor to forget them.

My sister can’t take statins. She has to get injections instead. Insurance company fought like hell to pay for them. She won in the end.

That's awesome your BP is back under control. I noticed immediate relief when I started taking Lisinopril. My headaches all but disappeared and sleep is much more restful.

That's what my wife did. She never had high cholesterol, but just high BP. Once she was on BP meds that was taken care of, but apparently most docs automatically put you on a statin no matter what your cholesterol levels. She had lab reports showing the statin was bad for her, but the doc never really looked at them. The ER doc was the one to suggest NOT taking them.

azgreg I believe I started to have a reaction to the statin.

I found out that I'm allergic to statins. I don't get the symptoms you described, they just turn me into a zombie.
I have no energy to do anything and one trip up a staircase an I'm gasping for air.

Bravopilot CoQ10 for relief? friends of mine use it to help with joint pain.

They've never done anything for me but like you, I've heard they work for some people.

                sdandrea1 might try Repatha

I was on that for about 6 months. It worked great but at what it was going to cost me I quit taking it. At the
time I was taking it, it was going to cost me $14,000 per year. I can't afford that for one medicine. I hear it's
come down some in price now but I don't know what it costs now.
