How I feel when the rare moment occurs that I actually am executing a few shots, i.e. feel a sense of rhythm in my game which gets snuffed out whilst waiting and waiting. The game's hard enough to remember to focus on "next shot" let alone allowing the aggravation of waiting seep into my cranium.
shokosugi I play at semi-private club and the average time has increased. Slow rounds used to be 3:45, but now fast rounds are about 4 hours and most are 4.5...and the price increases +10% each year. Our group is considering saving money and joining the mens league at a public course. The rounds will be a bit longer still, but it's a lot cheaper.
I have never, EVER! played 18 in under 4 hours, in ANY 4some.

We are doing the same thing next season but different reason…Course we were members at, through no fault of theirs, has become a little too difficult for us geezers, particularly when we walk…Too many ups and downs and side hills plus the length, even from geezers tees is getting longer. We are going to rotate between 4 courses that are somewhat less hilly and more conducive to walking..
It's cold.
Everything comes in plastic....condiments, butter, PB, applesauce...just everything.
Why is it that they put all those creases...cavities if you will....in the bottles/jars, that you just cannot get the last tiny morsels of product out of?
Wasted money, being cheated.

To justify their not being recycled. Although, we've been lied to about recycling for decades.

Par4QC YOU should come to our place and be a marshal. They won’t let me do it because they know I’ll throw people off the course…. God forbid that happens… they won’t be spending money at the bar afterwards which is apparently what’s it’s all about.
You say something to groups and you get,” I paid my money I’ll do what I want”…. That’s the part you don’t see Rex… the ignorant bullshit.
Another thing is people have no idea how long it should take to play. They say “we’re here for the day “… again, another selfish ignorant statement. They think paying greens fee makes them part owner of the course . We send the old guy out to marshal, he comes back accomplishing nothing, just says everyone is moving along fine
. I don’t bother saying anything anymore… for some reason the idiots that play here never complain about pace of play after a 5+ hour round on a course where I can play the front 9 in under an hour.
When I play it’s during the week and if it’s slow I skip around not holes, join other groups for a hole or 2… whatever it takes to keep myself moving. The other pros laugh when I tell them how slow it is out there… they don’t want the confrontation either so it gets worse and worse.
sdandrea1 Can you shoot them? You'd only have to do it once.
Maybe twice. Gotta get them to understand that it's not just a 1 time thing.
Maybe only sell them 4 beers before the round, then another 4 at the turn.
Catch them drinking anything you don't sell, THEN kick them off the course. Them suppling alcohol you don't sell them cal effect your liquor license.
I know, none of this will EVER be implemented, unfortunately.
