2025 Ryder Cup

After watching Full Swing and the embarrassment done to Keegan this is just desserts in a good way for Keegan. Well deserved.
For those that didn’t see it. Zack Johnson was coy about who he was going to pick for his captains picks. All the while sitting having dinner with Jordon Spieth, Rickie Fowler, Justin Thomas and some of their wives.
The Netflix camera crew was in Keegan’s house when Zack called giving him the bad news. Zack knew they were going to film it. Keegan was blindsided, but was gracious and showed a lot of class. Love that the PGA of America did this. Love it……
Also, Keegan will pick players who deserve to be on the team because of merit and not because they’re in a clique.

Sneakylong slim pickings for captains on both sides IMO, but as LD showed you don't need to have a HOF career to do a good job. He seemed to be up for it and did it with class. Some were critical of him leaving off Meronk, me included, but he knew what he was doing and those guys showed up. KB pick as captain seems odd to me almost like make up for the snub and Netflix, which was truly embarrassing. ZJ seems like class, but watching that Netflix series makes me question that! I really like KB's game and he can putt. Leaving him and Glover off the team was a mistake. Pick who's hot and who can putt. That being said when the top guys play like they did in the RC in 23, they left themselves no chance. I don't see JT or Soierh being on the team in 25 unless they actually do something. Lame ducks IMO. Gonna be very interesting to see who his picks are AND who he has as vice captains and does he have a celebrity influence/side show like MJ hanging around?

I'm not understanding the choices of these young guys.....still playing well, for RC captains. The captains should be coming off the Champions Tour. Or the rocking chairs/rest homes.
Apparently, no one really wants to be one.

I like the Bradley pick myself and I hope he plays his way onto the team as well.
Par4QC not s big list if we are bring serious. David Toms maybe. Stricker won't, DL3 already did, furyk already did, Phil is out. JT and Spierh will be up next. Webb Simpson will get a shot. I can't think of too many names....think about it....TW, Phil, Ernie, Vijay and Retiief in this past gen.... after that there are very few household names other than what's listed above. DJ out. Jacks era had a ton to choose from. Bubba out. JT and Spierh are the next two that will have to do it.
ode JT and Spierh are the next two that will have to do it.
And that will be when the RC has gone straight to hell. If it hasn't already with this pick of Bradley, imo, far too young. Arnie was also, but he was...Arnie.
But, I do like him as a player and what we know of him as a person. And do hope they kick the shit out of Europe, for his sake alone. I also don't think there will be any jumping over players in line. He now has to show he does not hold a grudge, even if he does.

One guy who was snubbed for years was Larry Nelson and he never got a chance. He had an excellent Ryder Cup record also. Something about his personality being too bland as I remember hearing.
Bottom line is with any coaching you need to have the players. A good coach can motivate / coach and get a bad team to be better. But if you don’t have the players you can only go so far.
Also, I said this before. I’m not that nationalistic when it comes to the Ryder Cup. Many of the European players live here in the U.S.. And I like many of the European players. The Ryder Cup is a great exhibition match with a lot of history.
I happen to like Keegan Bradley because he’s from my neck of the woods and what was done to him was wrong. Again, I love the pick.
ode there is potential.
It's my opinion that the USA is going to get waxed again, so may as well pick the younger guys and give them some experience so future Ryder Cups are better. Start the rebuild if you will.
Also, Patrick Reed is playing decent right now. Good vet and team leader, and a winner.
Spuzz I wasn't being real serious there.
I knew that.
After what was(seemingly) done to him, I think he will follow the order of merit, with a single exception, perhaps, of someone that might be a close friend, or even himself. If he/they have been playing well/decently leading up to the picks.
He wants to win badly. He needs to unpack his bag from when he was last on the team, & he needs the win in order to do that. As player or captain.

I would assume BAD would make it on points but .....he's only got the majors to gain them so it could be close if he plays average or.nkt well in future majors. Assuming Brooks will need good performances just to have a chance.
