I worked the 18th hole walkway 100 yards short of the green today. 18 was very receptive to shots from 160 yards out (or as little as 100 yards). These guys were throwing darts, even from the wire grass.
We work Friday and Sunday AM shifts and Saturday PM shift.
Some of our greens are meant to be very penal and force you to scramble if you don't hit the right spot.
We watched a few groups (after our shift) on 13 green and one guy hit 4 putts from off the front and 2 were close and the others came back to his feet. Same when he was hitting wedge from there. We also watched one player hit shots from the rear bunker and roll them off the front of the green (which means rolling 20 yards down the hill).
5 green is brutal, but there are places to miss. The pros know where they can miss, so I figure less carnage than if we were hitting those shots.
