Several are still playing. 1 is a coach. I think Diana will coach, maybe as soon as next season.

I watch/keep track of other games, not just the Fever, now. But if CC was not around at all, probably would not do much more than check in occasionally. Like seeing Kate Martin starting to have some really good showings lately. And still trying to figure the hype for Paige. Too bad CC is out tonight when they play her team. They would be guarding one another.

I'm only an hour or so from Iowa City. So, kind of explains my watching the Fever(CC) & teams that Kate plays for now. Local coverage was as expected when they were at Iowa. Plus, Kate has a local sponsor or 2 from right here, iirc.

Par4QC There are many players I’ve enjoyed watching besides Clark since tuning in. Liked watching Rhyne Howard, Tina Charles, and several on the Fever team. Also think highly of Paige, but mostly out of familiarity from college.

Par4QC I did come across some vids from the last game she played(vs. the Storm). The injury she has now came (stupidly) late when she was put back in at :16 in the 4th, being 8 up. Slip/fall(no trip), limping on the left when she got up.

I remember that and remember thinking why was she put back in? Beyond stupid.

Didn’t get to watch the game again. Daughter came home from a week long youth group trip and we were just sitting around the table talking after supper.

Paige started 2-7, went 7-10 after that and led Dallas' comeback. Kelsey Mitchell is a scorer. She should be THE featured scorer even when Clark gets back. She has a much better bag than CC. That might open things up for CC too.

garyt1957 Absolutely agree. They are paying her the big bucks and more than getting their money's worth, compared to comps around the league. Not sure what is going to happen with her after this season, having just a 1 year contract. I'd be trying to 'long term' her right now; more so than CC.

They tried to fit a team around CC for this year, in order to win(possibly win) a championship.
They have made too good of a fit. So much so that CC does not fit now....and I hated writing that. But truth!

Par4QC CC's real talent is passing. Let her run the offense without being the #1 option. I've also noted (and seen other people mention it) but CC doesn't seem to pass to Mitchell much. Not sure if that's a real thing or not, but I'll see KM come off a pick and cut down the middle and CC doesn't give it to her. Lexi, AB are getting that pass. You will then see KM kinda slouch her shoulders in a WTF ? way. Could be nothing. But if it's something, she definitely won't be back.

Par4QC I still don't believe that this Fever team can win a championship without Caitlin, and will probably rarely even beat teams that are over .500. They will require consistently good play from players that, heretofore, were never consistent performers. Kelsey is and always has been a good scorer before Caitlin and even better with Caitlin. But she has more than her share of 3 for 16 days and usually does not share the ball very well. It looks like she did last night though. Right now she's slightly behind in points and rebounds from last year, but up 1 assist per game. Boston is now coming into her own, but very doubtful she would have without the support and work with Caitlin, and who knows if she'll continue to grow if Caitlin were out of there. Howard can do her own thing no matter who she is playing with, she's a superior athlete that also doesn't seem to share the ball well. Lexi, Sophie, and Aari all play with heart and hustle, but can't be relied up to carry the team. Fabulous players to have though. We'll see, but so far the only "good" team they've beat without CC is Washington at 8-8. They'll probably get a CC less shot at the Lynx shortly and I hope they play great against them. It looks like the Lynx may be down their best player too. The Target center may not be a very neutral floor though.

But you are correct. Caitlin does not fit with the offense that White wants to run, and never will. I'd be willing to bet the owner of the Fever would sacrifice his whole team and staff to keep Clark no matter what else happens. But maybe that team garners so little of his interest that he doesn't care, or is just an expense write-off for him.

garyt1957 I don't think she gets the minutes or touches as much when CC is playing. And seems to force some shots when they are in together, imo, just to be able to shoot the ball when she has it. I'd have to do some deep checking, but I think she also has fewer assists when this scenario is in place.

A few 'stars' on that team, besides CC. I think Lexi will end up as MIP of the WNBA; her stats are all up a lot(kinda stunk last night though). Boston seems like she's back in the NCAA(even better imo), doing what made her a #1 & ROY. And Mitchell....well, she's Mitchell. It's why she's getting the 200+K.

Now if they were to be able to magically add another star player instead of CC, that might be interesting . Would fever be better with Paige? Hmm? Interesting.

Par4QC I haven’t forgotten. I’d bet some redirected endorsement deals with Caitlin’s backing (I’ll make your commercial if you include Smith and Carrington and compensate them well) would soothe the hate. Lots of business and oil money to spread around in Texas.
